Glaisdale, North Yorkshire, England
In an architecturally award-winning listed barn conversion, the Threshing Barn, along with the Old Sheaf Store and the Hayloft enjoy an idyllically peaceful location in the grounds of Red House Farm. Equipped to a high standard, their beamed interiors simply ooze character. The Threshing Barn has its own dedicated sitting out area with furniture and is close to the owners' small farmhouse B&B home, where guests share 1 1/2 acres of gardens with picturesque views, BBQ, shared adult games room with snooker table (under 16s must be strictly supervised), and sitting-out areas around a large peaceful duckpond.

The sitting area with wood-burning stove, dining area and well-equipped fitted kitchen area occupy the ground floor. Stone stairs lead to first floor double bedroom with wash basin and TV, and a twin bedded room. The bathroom/...

Red House Farm cottages look like a French gite rather than a moors farmyard and owners Tom and Sandra have a great attention to detail. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. Sharing the farm with the longhorn cows, an assortment of chickens and the farm dog just added to the atmosphere. Although some might find...

We came to stay for a long weekend at the Goth Weekend. Some friends were in the B&B and we stayed in the threshing barn. The owners are very welcoming and the cottage is very well equipped. Everything you could need for a weekend or a week is in the cottage. This is the second time we have stayed at...

Additional Rate and Availability Information
N.B. Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion.

The 'From £59.00' is based on staying 7 nights during the off season rate period (£412.00 divided by 7 nights). The nightly price or price-per-day will vary according to length of stay, for example, the 'price per day' will be greater for a 3-night stay than for a a 7-night stay, because of the constant costs of laundry, cleaning, etc. The minimum stay in the Threshing Barn is 3 nights and this is only during the Off Season period.

Pets are an additional £20.00. (1 well-behaved dog allowed of selected breeds.)
Please note prices are for up to 4 people plus 1 baby.
Breakages will need to be reported. Substantial breakages will have to be paid for.

Sometimes we can offer breakfast in the house to cottage guests. If you want this service, a full English breakfast is £10.00 per person per day. Please check about availability before you arrive.

About the neighbourhood
Whitby Area

GLAISDALE

Red House Farm is in the quiet, peaceful unspoilt valley of Glaisdale Dale, ideal for walking, riding and, I think, cycling, although most visitors look at the hills and argue. We are in easy reach of the coast, and historic cities such as York are only little more than an hour's drive away from Red House Farm.

The village pub is a 15-minute downhill walk about 3/4 of a mile away from Red House Farm and serves meals all days. The village has a good butcher's shop, but for something special, it's worth taking a trip to Radford's Butchers and Delicatesson in Sleights, which is twenty minutes away from Red House Farm. It's a good idea to bring a cool box to stock up. The village shops in both Gl... more
