Gites
After 7 years of searching for the perfect house we found it in April 2012. After extensive renovation our gîte opened for business in August 2013. Le Mas de Maupas is 1.8 km west from the town of Malaucène . Ideally situated for cyclists wanting to climb Mont Ventoux or for tourists wishing to savour the delights of the wine of the Côte de Rhone valley. The ski slopes on Mont Ventoux are 20 minutes by car and most years there is snow for about 4 weeks. The spacious gîte is the west wing of the farm house which has been completely renovated. 3 twin rooms, one ensuite (italian walk in shower, basin & WC), further shower room with WC, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, cooker with ceramic hob, sitting room with French windows out into the garden. Bed linen and towels included. There is a garage/workshop where cycles can be stored. The house is situated in 3.5 hectares (5 acres) of land which guests are welcome to roam and pick from the multitude of fruit when in season. The gîte is not overlooked, apart from a few inquisitive birds, so your space is completely private. There are no near houses so it is quiet and secluded but only a 12 minute walk to Malaucène. Wifi is free. French and English satellite TV. The swimming pool, shared with the owners, is 10m x 4m with wonderful views of Mont Ventoux. There is garaging for cycles and cars if necessary. It is a wonderful environment for your holiday. One small downside, the local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour) is not included in the rental price and will need to be paid before departure. It amounts to 0.70€ per adult per night, children under 18 are excempt. Sorry for this but it does mount up!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Mooie ruime vakantiewoning

Perfecte vakantiewoning in hartje Provence !

Ticks every box and hits every spot, an ideal location, stunning spot and elegantly converted farmhouse For cyclists, Mount Ventouw which is the first (beautiful) sight of the morning For wine buffs, Gigondas and Vacqueryas are within spitting distance For culture vultures, the lovely town of Vaison is just down the road and the major Provence sites of Aix-Arles-Avignon-Orange-Pont du Gard within easy driving distance (and the French roads made me squirm with embarrassment at the thought of the UK equivalent) For walkers and climbers the Gorges de la Necque And the highest concentration of "the most beautiful villages in France" So situation perfect, house with a wonderful ambience and then the charming patroness, the English widowed Annie, always there with a ready smile and encyclopaedic local knowledge This sounds like an advertisement but I cannot commend the Mas too highly

Lovely house in a beautiful area, ideal for cyclists
ideal location for cyclists. For those who do not cycle, the area has a lot to offer, plenty of places to visit or just relax by the pool. The house is well equipped and decorated to a high standard. Annie the owner lives next door and is on hand if you want anything but does respect your privacy, Tommy her dog is a delight. Highly recommended.

Stunning Location, Beautiful Rooms, Fabulous Owner and one Top Dog...Tommy!
We booked a week here and what an absolute find! Stunning location with views to die for, rooms immaculately dressed and cleaned to a high standard. The owner was extremely helpful and knowledgable of the area. Swimming pool clean and perfect for a cool off at the end of the day. Couldn't write this review without a shout out to her gorgeous little dog Tommy, who made the stay extra special with his little cheery face and the need for a tummy rub on a daily basis! Highly recommend booking.

Welcoming, comfortable and peaceful
We were looking for a peaceful retreat and found it in Le Mas de Maupas. Annie, our perfect host, was friendly and informative even arranging a cherry picking from the neighbouring farm which had a cherry orchard. 10 - 15 min walk into Malaucene depending on your level of fitness. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area.

I took my whole family for my husbusb's birthday. We had a marvellous time and our grandson enjoyed himself with Tommy the dog. Beautiful situation near a charming village and market town. Annie was a great host and very helpful in all matters.

Great location
The gite was excellently located close to Malaucene. It gave us great access to cycling routes including Mt Ventoux. The scenery is stunning in all directions. The gite was very comfortable, offering full facilities including a comfortable lounge area with TV. The garage provided safe storage for our bikes which was essential. . There was also the offer to use the pool, but we did not actually take up this offer. . Annie was a great host, providing information and advice where required. The dog, Tommy was also very friendly. There were a number of good value restaurants in Malaucene, although we were surprised that several did not take credit cards. We would not hesitate to go back to this accommodation..
