In the hills on the eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales, a family farm invites you to come and meet the residents. The cows live just across from the Yurts, the they all have their own private hot tubs, loos and showers. The pigs, goats and llamas can be fed if you join the 8:30am farmer’s rounds and the cows always need mucking out, if you feel like really getting your hands dirty. The yurts (and the hot tubs) are completely off-grid, with an axe for chopping firewood the only cutting-edge technology around apart from a gas hob for simple cooking. You’ll adjust to a slower pace of life, setting the fire and wrapping yourself in blankets as you sit outside where the peace and unspoilt skies are the only entertainment you need. If the hot tub and tranquility just aren’t enough, then ease those final knots of urban tension by arranging a Reiki session or head massage.

Well-appointed yurts situated in the middle of a working farm in the Dales. We had two yurts for our little family getaway: Hazel (dog friendly) and Rowan. Both spaces had lovely views of the farm and rolling hills, and were outfitted with everything needed for comfortable glamping (a nice bed, USB charging ports, a BBQ, hot shower, flushing toilet, and a small hob in the yurt for making tea). The wood-fired hot tub was a great added touch of luxury!
Tim really went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. We loved the farm tour (got to feed some very cute lambs, pigs, and chickens), and were lucky enough to get a safari-style ride to the top of the farm as a giveaway prize for being Wensleydale Experience's 3000th Instagram follower! Tim was really knowledgeable about the whole area and we learned a lot.
Definitely adhere to the guidebook recommendations and bring an extra towel for the hot tub and an extra blanket for the bed. We'd also advise guests to bring basic cooking ingredients like butter, oil, salt, and pepper.
This is a great getaway for families or couples looking to go glamping and experience life on a working farm. We very much enjoyed our visit!

Hen Weekend
Just got home from a 2 night stay for my daughters hen weekend. There were 10 of us and had the best time. The yurts are fantastic and the views equally so. The host was brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recommend a stay here

The Temple Folly
Have just spent 4 nights at Temple Folly with my husband. We thoroughly enjoyed it. After staying in the yurts here before we fancied something different. We weren't disappointed. Such a quirky and unique place to stay. Very peaceful. Had everything we needed with the most beautiful views and wildlife that could be spotted from just sitting outside around the fire bowl. Would definitely return 🙂

Absolutely Fantastic
There is nothing not to like about our stay. Everything was as described and perfect, from the yurt, to the facilities, stunning scenery, views and wonderful animals. My 13yr daughter was totally immersed in the farm experience, and April is such a wonderful time to visit with so many young animals and spring sunshine. Tim is the top man and there seems nothing he doesn't know about Farming. We were looked after from the moment we arrived, to pulling away 5 days later. Great attractions, walks and places to visit locally. Excellent local pubs if you fancy eating out (takeaway Pizza at the three horseshoes up the road). We were perfectly comfortable in our Yurt and enjoyed hearing the lambs just a few metres away! Thank you for everything.

This place is amazing.
Exactly what it says on the tin and then some.
My partner booked two nights in a yurt and a farm experience for us both. We stayed in Larch Yurt. Outstanding views across Wensleydale and over the river Ure looking at Bolton Castle and surrounding estate.
The Yurt was well presented, clean and tidy and containing all that you would require for a stay. Equipped with a log burner, gas BBQ, cooking and dining utensils, a wonderfully comfortable bed (the list goes on...). If you have come across 'The Wensleydale Experience' as somewhere to stay and it looks like your thing, it DEFINITELY is your thing.
The farming experience deserves a review of its own. Tailored to suit the people attending, we spent time working with the Highland Cows. I was a little dubious as to the experience being a bit of a gimmick. But NO. We were well stuck into some work and it was great to be a part of a valued task within the farm. Would hands down recommend this to anyone.
Lastly, and by no means least there is Tim. An absolutely great guy, obvious from the first introduction. So hospitable and happy to help, his passion for the site, the farm, the animals and the estate just shines through in everything he does. Every review seems to mention him, and rightly so because he adds an element to 'The Wensleydale Experience' which truly makes it stand head and shoulders above anything similar.
Book the trip. You won't regret it.

Loved every minute
We (2 adults, 9yr, 7yr and 2yrs ols) have just returned from our 2night stay. We booked last minute and the team were so helpful, especially Tim. It was clean and tidy, everything you needed with comfy beds etc. More than enough room for us as a 5.
Top tips, defo take blankets and a torch and defo pay for the hot tub to be warmed before you arrive (we were defeated meaning we didn't go in it till the next day - Tim came to the rescue).
The log fire kept our yurt so toasty warm. The peaceful, night sky with no disturbed lighting was something else.
We enjoyed the farm tour in the morning which was good fun and ended it with an AMAZING breakfast in the cafe.
A lovely 2 day get away, even in the middle of October.

We stayed in the Rowan yurt and everything was perfect, the hot tub is lovely and relaxing and the inside of the yurt is filled with everything you need. Tim was so accommodating and lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble. The privacy and luxury is nothing short of amazing and the showers are great!!

Excellent stay, Would highly reccomend
A lovely warm welcome from staff, the yurt was lovely and clean, we had enough wood to last us the weekend and the log fires keeps it toasty and warm on an evening. We had a gorgeous barbeque on the Saturday night while looking out into the gorgeous views, whilst finishing off the night in the hot tub!
Leyburn town just a short 10 minute drive away was amazing to stop and have a drink and a quick bite to eat and get your food in for the night.
Would 100% recommend to stay here and will be coming back as soon as we can!

The best stay
We had such a lovely time this weekend. It's our second stay here and could not recommend it enough. Tim and Steph are so helpful and accommodating. They are a credit to the site. The yurts are stunning, as are the hot tubs. Tim is extremely knowledgeable about the farm and the surroundings and clearly very passionate about his job. Thank you so much for a wonderful time. Will 100% be returning and recommending to friends. Thanks for everything.
