The cottage is arranged to enable you to make the most of the glorious Gloucestershire countryside views: the sunsets over May Hill are particularly special! Inside The ground floor has an entrance hallway and a generously sized and equipped kitchen featuring a dishwasher, electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge (with freezer compartment), along with a dining table and four chairs (a high chair is also available). As keen cooks ourselves, we have equipped the kitchen as we would our own home so you should find whatever you need for your stay. The sitting room is located in the centre of the first floor so you can enjoy watching hares in the fields or buzzards circling within view of May Hill. There is a sofa and two armchairs, a HD-TV, a well stocked bookcase and selection of board games and jigsaws for you to enjoy. There is also information about local activities, attractions and walking routes that can help you make the most of your stay in Tibberton. The main bedroom has dual-aspect countryside views and is furnished with a double bed. The twin room, at the other end of the cottage, has two full sized single beds. Both rooms have luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, are spacious and have plenty of space for storing and hanging clothes. A travel cot can be provided for either room (please bring your own bedding for this). The shower room has a large electric shower, guaranteeing you continuous hot water. Egyptian cotton towels are provided for use during your stay. Please let us know if you would like to borrow a baby bath. The cottage is family friendly: stairgates, a high chair, children's crockery & cutlery, and cupboard catches are provided as standard; a travel cot, baby bath and toys/books suitable for babies/toddlers are also available on request. The cottage has WiFi internet access. Outside Outside, guests have a private and enclosed orchard garden, with a dining table and four chairs. A barbecue and a selection of garden games are also provided: ideal for relaxing on a summer's evening. For walking enthusiasts, by prior arrangement, guests may also have access to a separate drying room, shared with the owners, complete with washing machine, tumble dryer, hanging space and boot rack. There is a parking space immediately adjacent to the cottage, and further free parking on the shared driveway is available on request. Secure bike storage is also available. No pets are allowed at the property (assistance dogs are welcome). All areas, indoor and out, are strictly no smoking. We live on site, so are nearby should you need us. However, with its own private entrance and garden, guests can enjoy privacy during their stay. Local Area Information The countryside cottage is located in Tibberton, a small peaceful village in the Forest of Dean that sits mid-way between the pretty market town of Newent and the cathedral City of Gloucester. Outdoor Activities Perfect for walkers and cyclists, the cottage sits in open countryside; there is a myriad of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes right on the doorstep. A cycling route popular with cycling clubs directly passes the property, and The Wysis Way and Three Choirs Way pass just a few hundred metres from the cottage door. If you need it, guests have use of a drying room and secure bike store. Additionally, the cottage offers an ideal base from which to explore the local area as it is centrally located between the Forest of Dean, Cotswolds, Malvern Hills and Wye Valley, all are known for their stunning views, wildlife and range of outdoor activity options and are within a 15 miles radius of the cottage. Shopping & Dining Out The City of Gloucester, only 10 mins drive away, with its newly redeveloped historic docks offers a range of cafes, bars and restaurants and outlet shopping in the Gloucester Quays. The regency spa town of Cheltenham, renowned for its shopping, theatre and festivals, is just a 20 minute drive. The historic and attractive towns of Tewkesbury, Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye can all be reached within a 30 minute drive. The area benefits from a wide selection of good country pubs, cafes and restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a pub lunch stop on a country walk, a cafe with toddler play space, or special evening dining experience, we would be delighted to make recommendations to guests. Guest Recommendations We maintain a visitor file in the cottage full of local activity information, route ideas and recommendations from previous guests. Please do get in touch if we can help in any way.More

Interaction with guests
We make every effort to respect guests' privacy and very much would like you to consider Tibberton Cottage your 'home from home' during your stay. For this reason, our default assumption is that guests would prefer to access keys from the key-safe themselves and be left to enjoy their stay without interruptions from us. However, as Tibberton Cottage sits to the rear of our family home, someone is often around to assist guests as and when this is desired. We maintain a comprehrensive Visitor Information Guide that contains information about the cottage facilities and our recommendations for dining out and acitivities to enjoy during your stay.

Getting around
Our cottage is about 15 minutes from both the M5 and M50 motorways. The final mile is along a country lane which is wide enough everywhere for 2 cars to pass each other. The cottage has off-road parking for one car, with further parking available on request. The nearest train station is Gloucester, which is about a 15 minute drive away. The number 32 bus route begins at Gloucester bus station, which is opposite Gloucester train station.
