Welcome to The Thatch, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. The Thatch is a beautiful detached period property, which has recently been lovingly renovated and refurbished by its interior designer owner. The cottage is located in the quintessential Cotswold village of Todenham, three miles away from the picturesque market town of Moreton in Marsh, with its many shops, pubs and restaurants, and direct train line to London. There are many country walks accessible directly from the cottage, which is also well positioned for exploring the many lovely villages and towns of the north Cotswolds, including Chipping Campden, Broadway and Stow-on-the-Wold. Well known tourist attractions, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace and Oxford are also all just a short drive away. The elegant interior of the property beautifully complements the traditional character features, which include wooden beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls, and a stunning inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove. Modern facilities in the cottage include a large SMART TV, wifi and a well presented kitchen. The Thatch sleeps six people in three bedrooms, with two bathrooms and a downstairs cloakroom. There is a lovely garden at the side of the property and off-street parking for two cars. The property is perfect for a family or a group of friends seeking an idyllic rural retreat, in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold countryside. House Rules Security deposits Security deposits are not required (please note that guests are still liable for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions). Occupancy The maximum occupancy of the property, including its grounds, is six guests (including infants in cots) at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than six guests at the property. Pets Regrettably, pets are not accepted. Bed linen and towels Bed linen and towels are provided for guests. Arrival and departure times Arrival time is after 3pm and departure time is by 10am. Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night. Bed sizes and configurations Master bedroom: King size bed Bedroom 2: King size bed Bedroom 3: 2 x single beds Bathrooms Master bedroom ensuite: Walk-in rain shower with separate shower attachment, toilet and wash basin Family bathroom: Bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin Downstairs cloakroom: Toilet and wash basin Heating, fuel and logs The property has an oil fired central heating system. Electricity and oil are included in the rental price. An initial basket of logs is provided for the wood burning stove between October and Easter and further log supplies can be purchased locally. Services provided The property has free wireless internet access and a SMART TV. There is no telephone at the property. Mobile phone reception is generally OK. Parking The property has off street parking for two cars, with additional quiet on street parking available close by. Housekeeping Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request. Child friendly facilities Guests with young children should note that the property has narrow and steep stairs and should therefore carefully assess if the property is suitable for them. There is no travel cot, high chair or stair gate at the cottage, however guests are welcome to bring their own. Guests with young children sleeping in beds are politely requested to ensure that they are confident that their children will not have accidents while in bed. Initial consumables A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, washing powder, toilet rolls, etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay. Accessibility, health and safety This is a period property and has many character features, including narrow and steep stairs, low beams on the ground floor and a low ceiling in the ensuite bathroom, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency. The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk. Hen, Stag and other same gender groups Unfortunately, Hen, Stag and other same gender groups are not allowed at The Thatch. Please note that same gender family groups are welcome.More

About the neighbourhood
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
