Interaction with guests: Talland Bay lies between Looe and Polperro and is one of the most memorable and secluded coves along the coastline of South Cornwall. The quiet hamlet of Talland consists of a scattering of houses and cottages and an ancient church, away from the busy tourist areas to the north and west.
The Bay community, set on a secluded hillside with direct access to the shore, is a haven of tranquillity, so rarely found in such an accessible location.
It is a perfect location for walking, fishing and exploring the coast - or just relaxing and enjoying the views.
The Beach
It has three small beaches flanked by a rocky foreshore and a beautiful undeveloped coastline and is sheltered and safe for swimming.

First of all, great location, great wildlife - swallows darting around the site. Right on the coast path. Plunge pool at centre of the site is brilliant.
Seems that separate owners own the properties and furnish them themselves.
The parts of our stay that involved The Bay Talland staff were great. The actual house not so much.
All the bay Talland properties are billed as “luxury self catering” - we paid £1,740 for a week in the summer holidays. The following points are made with this in mind - this is not a cheap let!
- The balconies and roof terrace all had a distinctly unloved air about them - unswept, broken store cupboard on roof, tatty furniture. The roof terrace especially could be really fantastic, a real lost opportunity.
- Some of the soft furnishings just manky. This seems even more wrong in the time of COVID.
- Always the absolute cheapest equipment - for instance the very, very cheapest Tesco branded vacuum cleaner. Come on guys!
- Why would you have a front door that you can't lock/unlock from inside without the key? If there is a fire you had better be damn sure you know where the key is.
- Main bedroom is too small, with an uncomfortable, creaky and very small double bed. Bed also has a curious foam topper - not brilliant.
- TV has just freesat - and even that doesn’t really work properly, lots of channels can’t be viewed because the signal is not strong enough, those that can be viewed often break up, presumably for the same reason.
- Wifi is slow and my Mac laptop at least disconnected quite often.
Again, the Talland bay staff were really lovely when emailed with some of these points, they bought a new potato peeler and two new sun loungers, and hid the empty store from the roof down the side of the house. So this isn't really about them, it's about he fact that number 3 feels like an investment someone has made and is now happy to take the money but without really taking any interest in the experience their customers get.

Thankyou for reviewing your holiday here at The Bay Talland. We are really sorry that your holiday did not exceed your expectations. We did contact the homeowner regarding the points raised.
Due to government restrictions the owners were unable to carry through with plans to renew and improve their property prior to the summer of 2020, which thankfully has now been completed.
Our owners really do take a very keen interest in maintaining properties, and continually review to ensure high standards are maintained.
As a small family business we do value feedback, enabling us to address issues ensuring that everybody has a great holiday experience with us.

Very Enjoyable stay
The house is located on a development of around 40 similarly designed houses. The whole resort is very clean, quiet, well maintained and beautifully located. House 3 was well designed, clean, airy and well equipped. We throughly enjoyed our week and wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay again. The only very minor criticism was the quality of some of the kitchenware, a slightly temperamental hob and a two slice toaster for a house that sleeps six which was a bit of first world problem!
