Perfect for your relaxed and carefree getaway in the sun, the Bougainvillea House offers two cosy ground-floor bungalows, fully furnished and completed with handpicked decor to make you feel at home. It is located in a quiet residential area in Bijilo, The Gambia. Each bungalow features two en-suite double bedrooms with ACs, plus an extra bathroom with bathtub. A comfy living room with a smart TV, and a fully equipped kitchen ensures you won’t miss a thing!
The crisp and inviting swimming pool is only shared among the two bungalows (and only for booked guests, not day visitors), so you can enjoy it to the fullest! Pool and bungalows are surrounded by lush greenery which attracts a variety of birds, butterflies, and even the occasional monkey.

-Check-out time is between 8am and 11am. An inspection will be carried out at check-out, before the security deposit can be returned.

About the neighbourhood
Bougainvillea House is located in a quiet residential area of Bijilo, away from the hustle an bustle of the Senegambia strip, but still in convenient proximity to all necessary amenities. A corner shop just a couple of walking minutes down the road provides fresh local bread and basic essentials. The nearest restaurant, Blue Kitchen, is just 10min walking distance away, and the perfect spot for a cozy dinner and a refreshing drink. Right on the side of Blue Kitchen, you will also find a German bakery that offers fresh bread and delicious pastries.
Getting around
The area is quiet and residential with little traffic, making it easy and safe to walk. Several little corner shops are within just a couple of minutes walking distance, where you can buy some basic essentials. Walking to the nearest highway takes less than 10min, and from there you can easily find a taxi.
That aside, we also provide numbers of reliable taxi drivers and tour guides who know the Bougainvillea House, and will be happy to pick you up there.
Car hire is generally not recommended for tourists, especially first time visitors, due to the often chaotic traffic conditions in the country.

How to get there
The drive from the Banjul International Airport to the Bougainvillea House takes around half an hour, depending on traffic conditions. If needed, we will be happy to arrange a taxi to collect you from the airport. The Bougainvillea House is best reached from the Kasumai Junction or from the Brusubi Highway, just after the Blue Kitchen restaurant and before Speed Petrol Station.
