6 Bedrooms, 4 Bathrooms, Sleeps 14
Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, Savoie, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes
The Great Escape is the perfect chalet for a sociable winter or summer sports holiday with a large group of friends or family. There are two parts - the duplex chalet on the upper floors has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8/9, whilst the ground floor apartment has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4-6. Each part has it's own living area and kitchen, so there is plenty of space to relax. The duplex has a log fire and large comfy leather sofas to sink into after a hard day on the slopes. As it is a privately owned holiday home, the Great Escape benefits from those little extra touches that set it apart from a commercial rental property. It boasts a very high quality of furnishings and equipment with plenty of storage space, efficient heating and plenty of hot water. It has a good selection of books, dvd’s/videos, and games.

Very nice place. The chalet with tne apartment were perfect for two families and grand parents. The sunny terraces were good places during children siesta. The only inconvenient is about washing machine and dryer that didn't work well but we appreciated the rapidity of interventions. We also very much appreciated the kindness of all people who helped for ski renting,...

Management response:

Thank you for your kind comments. We're sorry about the problems experienced with the washer-dryer which have now been resolved. We thank you for staying at Great Escape (several times now) and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

We recently stayed at Great Escapes Chalet, six adults and three toddlers, no mean feat. On arrival we were met with warm welcomes from Jess, Tony and Lorna that put us at ease from the outset. The chalet is on the edge of the resort, but still close enough to get to all the local amenities. Quite a few steep...

Management response:

Thank you for your review, we're really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and were well looked after by Lorna and Tony. Apologies for the lack of hair dryer, we'll make sure that is replaced. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for a future visit.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable ski holiday at The Great Escape, taking up both the chalet and the apartment. The kitchen was well equipped and big enough for two people to work in. We were delighted to find a tumble dryer (as well as a washing machine) which for wet skiing conditions could have potentially been a...

Management response:

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Great Escape, we're pleased that you enjoyed it. We're going to be making a few changes to the chalet before next winter, including replacing the bunk beds and the dining chairs, and adding a couple of extra armchairs to the lounge which will give more seating for larger...

About the neighbourhood
The Tarentaise valley is famous for its snow sure winter resorts. All our properties are within easy reach of the big names – Val d’Isère, Tignes, Les Arcs, La Plagne and La Rosière with its link to the Italian La Thuile – as well as being at the foot of the slopes at Sainte Foy Tarentaise.

There's loads to do in summer too. You can choose to mountain bike, road cycle, hike, climb, play golf or tennis, swim, watch the Tour de France, indulge at the local wine fairs, or simply relax and soak up the sun.
Getting around
Whilst a car is not needed in the winter if you intend to ski mainly at Sainte Foy, it will make it easier if you want to ski at other resorts as public transport is limited and taxis are expensive.

In the summer a car is essential to be able to make the most of what the area has to offer.
