Cascina Cerea is a 300 years old farm house on the top of a hill in the Langhe/Piemonte with its own chapel, 30 minutes from Barolo.
From the Cascina Cerea you can see the alps around and otherwise you can be an hour later at the seaside.
This part of the Piemonte is very specially: You find delicious meals at the restaurants and wonderful wines.
The apartement is really new and comfortable, there are two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen with all the things you need to cook.

Es war schon unser zweiter Besuch in der Cascina Cerea und es war wieder traumhaft schön. Die beiden Gastgeber Gabi und Jens geben einem das Gefühl nach Hause zu kommen und stehen einem bei allem mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Die Wohnungen sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, sehr geräumig und super sauber und der darum liegende Garten ist einfach atemberaubend schön. Für uns gibt es keinen schöneren Ort um sich vom hektischen Alltag zu erholen. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen und können es schon jetzt kaum erwarten!

Excellent and beautiful place with wonderful hosts
This is a beautiful rebuilt old farm, that has the 'old' atmosphere but all the modern comforts you could wish for. It was a great place to stay. The courtyard is a great place to have a drink and meet other guests, or talk to the hosts (Gabi and Jens) for tips on things to do. Or just sit and pet the dogs and cats :-)
Gabi and Jens, who live in the other half of the farm, are very friendely hosts who will help you with anything and really give the place a special feeling. They really do their best to make people a little happier during their stay. Example: Our car's airco broke down and Jens has accompanied me to 2 garages to get it fixed. Really great service!!
I do not have to add any pictures because ALL PICTURES ARE AS IT IS. It is new, clean, well-designed, built with quality materials. Communication during booking was perfect. They even bought a special baby-tub for our daughter! A baby bed and chair were already present. They have a mini-store where you can buy local wines, beer, cheese and sausage, olive oil, and vegetables from their own gardens.
PS: we rented the La Castagna-appartment, they have 3 other appartments, all within the farm.
I just have 3 tips:
- Bring a mosquito net. (We have told the hosts it would be great if they could provide them)
- Bring a fan to if you have trouble sleeping in warm temperatures.
- Wifi is present, but only in the courtyard, not in the apartments.
For all the rest: it's a no-brainer. Great, great place and people.

Exceptional property with excellent hosts
The property is well worth the journey, it sits in an idyllic location with distant views of the Alps. The units are spotlessly clean and well equipped with ample sitting inside and out with plenty shade, even common areas where guest congregate and share experiences and friendship. Gabi and Jens are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. We even observed them taking guests who had car trouble to garages and helping them organise repairs. There is a well equipped shop on site which sells home made bread and organic vegetables from their garden. We were invited to the monthly bbq in the town with all the locals which was a wonderful experience. Gabi's interpreting skills left us in awe as she regularly translated from Italian to German to English and French. Her tours are not to be missed. Her local knowledge of places of interest to visit within the area was invaluable. We hope we to return next year.

Hier ist es einfach superschön.
Die großzügig geschnittenen Ferienwohnungen sind extrem sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail, stilvoll und weit über dem normalem Standard gestaltet.
Gabi und Jens haben mit ihrer Cascina Cerea ein kleines und idyllisches Paradies geschaffen, das Sie mit Ihrer offenen, unkomplizierten und gastfreundlichen Art einfach unvergesslich machen.
So bietet ihr kleiner Hofladen ein vielfältiges und oft von Ihnen oder den Bewohnern der Umgebung selbst hergestelltes oder selbst angebautes Sortiment an Lebensmitteln an, das die Fahrt in ein Supermarkt erspart.
Die Umgebung und die Natur hat auch für kleine Gourmets einiges zu bieten: Weinproben ( Barolo & Barbera), sehr leckere und mehrgängige Feinschmecker- Events und Expedition in das Reich von Trüffel, Pilz & Käse.
Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und auch unsere zwei Töchter (6 u. 7 Jahre) konnten sich kaum von dem kleinen Juwel im Piemont lösen und freuen sich schon auf ein Wiedersehen.
