Situated in the peaceful village of Hartland, North Devon this Grade 2 listed Georgian Town house (cira 1725) is the perfect location throughout the year, whether it be for a fun, adventure filled summer holiday or a place for a cosy, atmospheric Christmas together. The accommodation comprises of a hallway that retains its original dado panelling, mosaic tiled floor and open well stair case (We haved fixed gates at both the top and bottom of the stairs), ground floor cloakroom, sitting room with raised and fielded panelling, a living room, a dining room, kitchen/breakfast room and utility room. Up stairs there are 5 good sized bedrooms 4 of which still have the original fire places (non functional), plus a single room, shower room and bathroom. Just before you are due to stay at Charter House we send you instructions on how to get there and the number for the key safe as we are not always able to meet you. We also give you a list of our phone numbers so that you can contact us if needed. We try not to disturb you during your stay. Once inside the house you will find a file with the instructions on how to use some of the appliances, central heating and hot water. There are a number of leaflets on what activities are available in the area on the hall table. Prior to your stay if you wanted any information then we encourage you to contact us or take a look at out facebook page.

Ideal for a family get together. Beautiful village with great pubs. Fabulous sandy beach at Sandymouth. Lovely cream teas at Rectory Farm Morwenstow. Super garden at the property. Only down side was that we ran out of hot water!More

Hartland is a popular village with a small selection of shops and pubs about 2.5 miles off the A39. Charter house is in the very heart of Hartland. For those looking to come in the August summer Holidays, Hartland carnival is a must. This annual event is usually held during the first full week of August and includes a quiz night, bingo, a family fun night, ending with the grand display of colourful, artistic and amusing floats lead through the village by the Hartland town band.

Getting around
The 319 is the daily bus service that to Hartland and connects with the service to Bude but neither of them run at regular intervals through the day Hartland is approx 25 miles from the nearest train station and more than 50 miles from an airport. We recommend that you have a car as getting around without one is very difficult.

How to get there
From junction 27 of the M5 take the North Devon Link Road (A361), bypass the town of Barnstaple following the A39 towards Bideford and Bude. Cross the bridge at Bideford, bypassing the town and continuing towards Bude. Pass through Fairy Cross, Horns Cross and Bucks Cross. At Clovelly Cross, a roundabout with adjacent garage, continue straight on and take the next left on a speed corner sign posted Hartland. Follow the road into Hartland in the centre of the town turn right up the square Charter House is facing you.
