The enclosed garden is ideal for children to play in.

The  lounge which is next to the kitchen is also at the front of  the house

With a good sized table it is great to enjoy family time.

Bedroom 1 which over looks the garden is the 1st of the 6 bedrooms  and can sleep 2 in twin beds.
Bedroom 2 which overlooks the square is the smallest of the double bed rooms
Bed room 3 is the smallest of the bed rooms
Bedroom 4 is a spacious room with a super king size bed and space for cot
Bed room 5 is a large double aspect room with super king size bed and plenty of space for cot
Bedroom 6 is a twin room

The accommodation comprises of a hallway that retains its original dado panelling, mosaic tiled floor and open well stair case (We haved fixed gates at both the top and bottom of the stairs), ground floor cloakroom, sitting room with raised and fielded panelling, a living room, a dining room, kitchen/breakfast room and utility room. Just before you are due to stay at Charter House we send you instructions on how to get there and the number for the key safe as we are not always able to meet you. We also give you a list of our phone numbers so that you can contact us if needed. We try not to disturb you during your stay.
Once inside the house you will find a file with the instructions on how to use some of the appliances, central heating and hot water. There are a number of leaflets on what activities are available in the area on the hall table.
Prior to your stay if you wanted any information then we encourage you to contact us or take a look at out facebook page.

we stayed here for feb half term. the house was very lovely to stay in. we had everything we needed and more. there was a huge amount of space as there was 10 of us. we spent time at: hartland quay clovelly sandy mouth bay bude the kids loved the garden and the swing.

Great location in centre of village. Pub right next door with log fire. Very large user friendly house with lots of rooms. Yule village festivities including Xmas eve carol service. Dog friendly with woodland walks minutes away. Lovelly owners.

We stayed here with a family of 10 over the summer to celebrate a big birthday. There were four children in the group and the house wasn't good for them at all. The house is old and the furniture is dated. It smells, it's damp and one child stood in dog poo in the back garden. One TV had no...

Having had many positive reviews and comments in the guest book we were a little surprised by some of your comments. We are in the process of replacing the bedroom furniture. We trust that guests after using our CDs return them to the correct cases...

Hartland is a popular village with a small selection of shops and pubs about 2.5 miles off the A39. Charter house is in the very heart of Hartland. For those looking to come in the August summer Holidays, Hartland carnival is a must. This annual event is usually held during the first full week of August and includes a quiz night, bingo, a family fun night, ending with the grand display of colourful, artistic and amusing floats lead through the village by the Hartland town band.

Getting around
The 319 is the daily bus service that to Hartland and connects with the service to Bude but neither of them run at regular intervals through the day Hartland is approx 25 miles from the nearest train station and more than 50 miles from an airport. We recommend that you have a car as getting around without one is very difficult.

How to get there
From junction 27 of the M5 take the North Devon Link Road (A361), bypass the town of Barnstaple following the A39 towards Bideford and Bude. Cross the bridge at Bideford, bypassing the town and continuing towards Bude. Pass through Fairy Cross, Horns Cross and Bucks Cross. At Clovelly Cross, a roundabout with adjacent garage, continue straight on and take the next left on a speed corner sign posted Hartland. Follow the road into Hartland in the centre of the town turn right up the square Charter House is facing you.
