One of the largest stone built terraced cottages and closest to the beach, in the fishing port of Amble by the Sea, with a lovely sunny rear terrace and kitchen. Interaction with guests
I live near York, but this is also our own holiday home, so it is equipped over and above the usual holiday rental, we have comfortable beds, good quality furnishings, and the kitchen has none of that four of this and five of that nonsense, it is full of good white bistro china, long-stemmed glasses, cast iron casseroles, food processor, hand mixer, cake tins, in fact everything you would want if you lived there. We have an excellent property manager in Acklington, she will keep the house in good order, and can handle queries. We, of course are always available by phone or email, and we will send you lots of information on places to eat out, dog friendly or not.

About the neighbourhood
Amble used to be an old working port, coal exporting and fishing, and though it still has a small and very colourful array of fishing boats, the marina and all the yachts are quite a change, as is the number of restaurants now in the small town, and all pretty good too. The surrounding area is very beautiful, and there are a lot of good walks without taking your car, just straight out of the front door, and you have coast and countryside. Warkworth, a lovely village with galleries and coffee shops is just over a mile away, on the river Coquet, and Alnmouth not much further. If you book for two weeks you will of course, get a change of linen and towels and a light clean if you would like one, on the middle Saturday morning.
Getting around
Well, you can't beat a car, the roads are quiet, it is after all the least populated area of mainland England, but there is a station near Alnmouth, 6 miles away, which will take you to either Edinburgh, a great day out, or Newcastle, also actually a lot of fun with loads to see, especially around the Quayside.
You can manage also with buses, but most of the sights and lovely places to eat are best accessed by car. You can't miss Craster and a good kipper for lunch from Robson's smokehouse followed by a walk to the ruins of Dunstanburgh castle.
