Gertie's Getaway is a stunning luxury holiday cottage in the popular costal town of Amble. It has been fully refurbished to a high standard in 2019 and boasts 3 well appointed light and airy bedrooms, a modern bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle, an open plan living area with log burner (starter kit provided) , spacious dining area and well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, coffee machine and microwave.
There is also an additional WC downstairs.
It comfortably sleeps 6 guests with a kingsize bed, double bed and 2 single beds. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room for additional guests.
Gertie's Getaway is situated a stones throw from the wonderful Amble Harbour Village with its variety of shops, bars and restaurants and the Beach and...

Perfect stay
I was a little hesitant to book this cottage as it didn't have many photos or any reviews, however needs must as there wasn't much else available for the dates we had - I need not have been concerned! This wonderful property was everything we could have wished for and more! The communication with the owner was excellent and the cottage its self was absolutely stunning (the owner explained it has just been refurbished and that was why there was not many photographs and had only just been listed when we booked). It had everything we needed and the location was perfect with lots of things to do in the surrounding area and lots of very nice restaurants and pubs very close by. We were also situated a short stroll from the Harbour with many small independent shops and a Marina. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly look to book again in the future.

Beautiful and spacious modern holiday cottage
Located in Amble very close to the shops and harbour, and a short work to the beach, there are plenty of pubs, resteraunts and takeaways close by and a market on Sunday mornings, this cottage has all the essentials you need for a short or longer break

Week away
We have spent a wonderful week here at Gertie’s Getaway. It has everything you need and more! Our dogs Holly and Beano have had a fantastic time, visiting the beach, walking round Amble and relaxing on the patio. The rooms are bright, airy and beautifully dressed. Luxurious bedding makes for a comfortable nights sleep. The welcome pack was extremely thoughtful and generous, including a treat for the dogs. Elaine was always available for advice. Amble is a very friendly community. We really don’t want to leave!

A stunning holiday home in the perfect location on the beautiful Northumberland coast
Gertie's Getaway was the perfect holiday home in an ideal location for exploring Northumberland. The house is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable and spacious, and we had everything we needed for our short stay by the seaside - including a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer - all brand new! Its location in Amble was perfect for all the harbour-side bars and restaurants and the high street shops. We can't wait to get back for another stay - especially if the weather's as lovely again, so we can make use of the fantastic patio area. 100% recommended!!

Just fantastic
I booked Gertie,s getaway for a surprise break for my husband's birthday
And it is simply stunning. A spacious, immaculate three bedroom house
Ideally located in the charming coastal town of Amble. It is close to beaches, pubs and the town centre yet perfectly situated in a quite part of the town.

Excellent
I booked this property last minute for 3 nights and took my husband 2 daughters and grandchildren, it was beautifully decorated to a high standard and very comfortable.
It is in a great location, the harbour and beach were just a few minutes walk, we went to Alnmouth beach twice which is a great beach for little ones.
I can’t recommend it enough and will definitely be booking again in the near future

Beautiful House
We stayed as a group of 7 adults (all family members). The house was spacious, well decorated and impeccably clean. We visited for a family get together and although the weather wasn't favourable there was plenty to do in the local area. The house was perfectly situated for every amenity in Amble and only a short stroll to the harbour and beaches. There are many great pubs near by and some fantastic restaurants.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owners were helpful with some questions we had.
We are already planning our next family get together and will certainly book this house again

Stunning seaside haven
Had a brilliant bank holiday at Gerties Getaway. The cottage is gorgeous, had everything we needed - even Netflix for the kids when we wanted to relax after a day in the sun. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the beds are so comfortable (with gorgeous bed linen). It’s in a perfect location too - Warkworth is at the other end of the harbour (if you follow the river you can walk in about 40 minutes). We took a trip to Coquet Island and had a day out Alnmouth beach. Amble has lots to do too - places to eat and great little gift shops - Elaine was so helpful with things to do and places to visit :) would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing place
Had a great stay at this lovely stone built terraced house in Amble. Very well equipped and furnished to a high standard ( which is great for us as not all dog friendly properties are!)
Perfect location, close to Amble harbour and town centre with lots of dog friendly cafes and pubs on the doorstep. Can't wait to return and would definitely recommend.

Beautiful, spacious and modern
We booked Eileen's cottage for a long weekend away with the family (3 generations, small children and a dog included!) And it did not disappoint. The apartment was clean and beautifully presented and we arrived to find a lovely welcome hamper work some sweet treats left for us!
The cottage had everything we could need and more and felt like a home away from home. We didnt need it as we were blessed with lovely weather but there is a great lot burner for winter nights (and netflix! Not that you need it). The location was perfect for dog walks and we enjoyed the saturday market on the Harbour.
Beautiful area of the world and we will definitely be revisiting. Thank you! X

Amble has a friendly port with a working harbour, marina and stunning beaches.Gertie's is a stones throw from the Harbour Village where you can find some small pod style shops, popular on a Sunday when the busy market takes place. The Harbour area boasts a variety of restaurants, food outlets, bars and an award winning ice cream shop. Boat trips are available here to Coquet Island to see the RSPB bird sanctuary. The historic village of Warkworth is only 2 miles away and makes a lovely walk along the river admiring the view of Warkworth Castle which often holds events through the year. There are pubs, bespoke shops and further opportunities to explore all with free parking.
