Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Lovely accommodation in the perfect location
Recently stayed in this lovely cottage which was very cosy and well equipped. We even used the stair gate to keep our dog downstairs so it was a real 'home from home'. Loved having the option of a takeaway from the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel next door when my husband was away for a couple of nights. I would never tire of the walk across the golf course and down to the beach. The views were magnificent. We walked and walked and then got the bus home. Need to stay again to walk another section of the Coastal Path.

Fantastic cottage
Booked early May for couples getaway with dogs. What a find, superb location in rural village setting & to beach. On doorstep Dunstanburgh Pub - great food. Easy walk to ‘The Ship’ Low Newton for seafood options. A lovely bright clean cottage super little patio off living area for dogs. Lots of walking. Fab little farm shop up street open on Sundays. Totally organised letting set up for pets, kind owners organised. Going home to rebook our next option. By far the best stay for a while in UK. 5 ⭐️ Plus

Lovely stay.
My partner, myself and our dog stayed 4 nights. This lovely cottage has everything you need and was very clean. Even towels, treats and fleeces for dogs. Noticed if you have children there is also high chair and baby gate. Nice secure small front garden and very close to a couple of pubs and a restaurant with some lovely walks close by. Owners very accommodating and prompt response as we wanted to add on a day at the beginning of our stay. We wouldn't hesitate coming back.

Lovely autumn stay
We spent 3 nights at this lovely little cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very well equipped and beautifully presented, particularly as it is dog friendly. Sometimes these types of properties can be a little dull, but Crocus cottage was very cute. The beach is about a 15 minute walk, and fabulous for dogs. The golf club is nice to sit and have a coffee on the way back too. The hotel next door is very handy for a drink and we enjoyed lovely meals at the Jolly Fisherman and the Joiners Arms. Looking forward to another stay at Crocus Cottage in the future.

Perfect for nature enthusiasts
Plenty of other reviews praising the cottage. Just wanted to praise its surroundings...beautiful beach 10 mins walk down a quiet lane or 15 mins across fields to nature reserve with two lakes, scrubland and sand dunes. Another nature reserve in old quarry two mins walk north up the road, again with lake and scrub. Brilliant for birding and botany. Will be back as soon as possible, hopefully in same cottage.

Perfect
This was a welcomed surprise. Perfect for a family of four. Beautiful accommodation. Well looked after snd very clean! We arrived late at night so the little touches such as milk and tea bags were appreciated! The children loved the cottage and did not want to leave. Close to amenities but even better it was close to the beach with stunning views! Great walks. We had a great time with some great friends! We will be back!!! Thankyou

Crocus cottage
Crocus cottage was most comfortable, well equipped and situated in a quiet development of 5 cottages. With one double and one twin bedrooms our party of three were very happy. There is a combined kitchen and lounge, with tv and DVD player provided. The village of Embleton is beautiful and a fabulous, award winning beach is within walking distance.

About the neighbourhood
The village of Embleton is one of Northumberland's true gems. Why not try the wonderfully traditional village pub - The Greys Inn, or try out the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel, which shares the courtyard with Snowdrop Cottage. The award winning Embleton Bay is a ten minute stroll away, with its beautiful sandy beach that seems to stretch for miles. Just before you reach the dunes you'll see Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club, which boasts a traditional 18 hole links course with views that simply cannot be beaten. There is also a bar and restaurant in the club which are open to the public. The village has a small shop and post office and for the younger ones there is a delightful, well-equipped and modern play area in the village. Such is
