Little extras: jacuzzi bath, TVs in 3 of the 4 bedrooms, selection of books, board games and DVDs. Beaches/Harbour: immediately to the front of the property is a small sandy beach with seating areas and a BBQ. Relax in the morning with a coffee and the paper or in the afternoon with a glass of something cold. In the evening be sure to keep an eye out for dolphins, seals and maybe even whales. A couple of minutes stroll to the right of the house brings you to a larger beach with rock pools ideal for 'crabbing', dog walking or just a pleasant walk. A short stroll in the opposite direction will bring you to the harbour area where fishing boats and pleasure craft are moored, overlooked by the statue of a fisherman known as the Mannie . Fishing boats are still operating from the harbour; visit at the right time of day and you might hook yourself a shellfish bargain from one of the friendly locals.. Food, drink and supplies: the local pub is within 5 mins walk where you can sit outside and enjoy the views with a cold drink and maybe sample something from the menu. There is a shop about 5 mins walk away where you can buy most of your fresh goods such as milk, bread, cooked meal meats, fantastic steak pies and a morning paper. Next to the shop there is a pharmacy which also doubles as a post office. There are the usual larger supermarkets just a short drive (about 3 miles) away in Buckie. During the week there are several mobile vans that operate in the village selling fish suppers and burgers if you don't feel like cooking. In either direction, in Cullen and in Buckie, there are numerous options for takeaway food including great fish suppers, as well as various cafes and restaurants and fantastic ice cream at Cullen and in Buckie. Activities: there are excellent walks and cycling paths either side of the village; the Moray Coastal Trail goes past the house, and the Speyside Way (one of the four official Long Distance Routes in Scotland) begins in the centre of Buckie. Go right from the house and you can walk/cycle along the cliff tops to Portknockie where the remains of Green Castle can still be seen and of course the famous Bow Fiddle Rock. Go a little further and you will reach the stunning beach at Cullen. Go left from the house and down beside the pub, you can walk onwards to Strathlene Golf course and driving range, to a lovely waterfront cafe at Strathlene, and then on to Buckie. The area is full of walks and cycle rides with the Winding Walks at Fochabers (about 15 mins drive) having purpose built cycle tracks within the forest. The Moray Firth is famous for the world's largest and most northerly bottlenose dolphins. They pass the house daily – if you keep a vigilant eye then you should see them. More information on their activities can be found at the Scottish Dolphin Centre at Spey Bay. There are many excellent links golf courses in the area, and lots of good fishing; sea fishing from the shore and by boat, river fishing on the Spey and other smaller local rivers.. There are numerous iconic whisky distilleries on the area, and many have visitor centres and conduct tours. Christies Garden and Visitor Centre with its outdoor children's play area, Baxters Visitor Centre and Craft Village and Johnstons Cashmere Centre are nearby. There is a swimming pool in Buckie and bowling, swimming and a cinema in Elgin. But we hope your favourite activity will be relaxing at the house enjoying the tranquillity and views!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

So good we didn't want to leave! We will be back!
I hesitate to write a review simply because we don't want to share this hidden gem! Having a seaview from almost every room, with a beach a literal stones throw from the front door and another just 5 minutes walk is as close to holiday heaven as you can get, then add you're on the Sunshine coast! Accomodation is comfortable and very well equipped we catered for ourselves very easily. We visited Brodie Castle, the Scottish Dolphin Centre but sadly we saw no dolphins until a couple of days later when we saw dolphins swim by from the house...very very excited granddaughter 😁 We also saw the the seals on the beach at Port Gordon and heard their haunting song. Cullen beach is beautiful and Cullen icecream is some of the best we've ever tasted! We also visited Glen Moray Distillery one of the best value tours around I think and very interesting. We took dogs away with us and spent a lot of time walking around the village and local areas there are lots of amazing walks. We are already planning our next trip 🙂

A Fabulous Getaway
The house is in a fabulous location being opposite a small beachy inlet which provides beautiful views throughout the day. Beautiful coastal walks, in both directions, are accessible from the house. The small beach opposite the house has a communal bbq grill which would be great during the summer. There is a larger beach at the end of Duke Street. The house itself is very comfortable, homely and well equipped. The hosts were very helpful and quick to respond with information about the local area. Findochty is a very quiet village and great base from which to explore the coast and local area. Hope to return one day with family and friends so they too can enjoy the area and the lovely accommodation.

Group of 5 adults visiting We all had a fantastic time House is spotlessly clean with lots of little details that make it feel very homely. Information on local area is very helpful too. House has everything you need for your stay, televisions, games, books, kitchen utensils etc. Lovely sitting area out the back on raised decking where you can watch the sea or table and chairs for having a coffee /wine Beach right outside the front the door is excellent. Log burner for when it's chilly is lovely. Very spacious house Second time visiting and would definitely return again.

Lovely weekend!
We spent another wonderful weekend at the Beachfront House in Findochty. We keep returning to this fantastic place as often as we can. Ian and Fiona are very responsive to all enquiries. During our stay, the weather was perfect, the cottage was welcoming and clean as always. We even were lucky to see dolphins from the bedroom window! We can't wait to come back at the last weekend of June. I can't recommend this place high enough!

Great stay in sunny Finechty
The Hythe is an ideal location for a family holiday and this house is well equipped with all you need to enjoy your stay. The decking area behind the house was ideal for al fresco dining and barbecues and the children enjoyed good access to the beach. Managed to see dolphins from the bedroom window. Communications with the owners and caretaker were first class. Thank you so much
