About the neighbourhood
Angmering-on-Sea is steeped in history. It was originally proposed as a sporting garden village; and in 1913 the local area was transformed into Angmering-on-Sea – the name stolen from the village the other side of the railway station. During the inter war period - the Riviera interlude - it was a small but very smart seaside resort, boasting lidos, tennis and country clubs with croquet & bowls and was often visited by the Queen who came to watch international standard tournaments. Now a private secure residential family orientated estate, quiet in winter and busy with wet sports on the summer weekends, Angmering-on-Sea is only an hour and a half from central London and readily accessible from Gatwick and Heathrow
