Getting around

Puerto Vallarta is best seen by walking for exploring the many vendors and shops on the way to your final destination. Please watch your step! There are many cobblestone streets and cracked sidewalks. If you prefer to not to walk, you can take a bus, cab or Uber. When taking a cab, make sure you ask or negotiate the price before you get in. Keep in mind it's cash only for local cabs. Renting a car is also a great way to explore the surrounding areas but there is usually a hefty damage deposit charged. Avis near the airport has a reasonable damage deposit. Book in advance.
