Good

Beautiful home but not to safe for a family with kids. Be prepared to walk up a couple of stairs before getting to the penthouse. I actually fell and broke my foot half way through the trip due to the stairs. The house was very roomy, lots of space, we enjoyed the top patio especially at night when you get to enjoy the breeze while looking down watching the kids in the jacuzzi. We did have issues with our water not turning on through out the trip. Room service was great and trusting. It was nice coming home from an exhausting day to see the house organized, clean and all beds made. My family did enjoy the house and the rooftop made it an unforgettable trip.

Thanks for your nice review and we hope to have you as a guest again. Regarding the water issue there are shorter stops in the water supply in Playa Del Carmen, they are upgrading the water supply system in the city and it should soon be finished. The penthouse is safe for families with kids the stairs are normal Mexican standard and of course the smallest kids need to be looked after it`s a big balcony and Jacuzzi where they should not be alone. Nice condo in a great location

The condo is really nice. It is starting to show it's age but feels like a beach condo with nicely decorated amenities. The lay out is good and the kitchen has everything you need to cook and be comfortable. The third bedroom on the second floor was a bit odd as it is connected via another patio, but it worked well for us as 3 couples. The view form the third floor balcony was cool and great spot to bring in the New Year and see the fireworks at Mamitas. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. Myrna was very helpful and responded to emails extremely quick. Muchas gracias!

Mycket fin lägenhet som är har ett perfekt läge vid Aveny 5

Lägenhet som har mycket hög standard, gott om utrymme. Utomhus finns det gott om platser för både dagtid och kvällstid, överst en helt underbar sittplats med utsikt mot havet och staden, En våning ner finns en till utomhusplats med jacuzzibad. I våningsplan finns stor balkong med tak och BBQ och många sittplatser. Mycket stort vardagsrum med fint barkök, som har allt man behöver, alla sovrum är stora med gott om förvaringsmöjligheter. Mycket bekvämt med att ha allt precis utanför dörren, istället för att bo på något hotellkomplex och måste ta taxi varje gång man vill in till Downtown eller stranden, den finaste stranden i Play del Carmen; Playa Mamitas ligger någon minuts promenad bort. Kan varmt rekommendera denna lägenhet som har allt man kan önska sig för en perfekt semester.

Best location in Playa del Carmen!

This place has the perfect spot in Playa del Carmen. As you can notice, it is really one block to the 5th Avenue and only one block from Mamitas beach!... if you’re looking for a clean and neat rooftop in playa del Carmen this is the place to be. Also, the host is always alert on anything you need, response very fast and maintain contact with you. I will always come back to this place if I’m in Playa del Carmen.

Excellent

This was the second time that I've rented this condo and I WAS NOT disappointed at all! The condo's location, location, location is in perfect walking distance to everything that you would like to see or do in the area! The condo has all of the comforts of home for cooking meals and relaxing. The views from the roof top deck is wonderful. There were a few small issues that were addressed immediately by the owner and staff. Which I loved because it showed me that they really care about the property. Teresa (the housekeeper) and the rest of the staff was so polite and accommodating. I would very much so recommend this condo to anyone planning to visit the Playa del Carmen, Mexico area in the future!

2nd Stay here and it definitely did not disappoint!

My family stayed in the this penthouse in 2013 and every time we tried to rent it again, it was always booked! So, I was shocked when planning a girls' trip to find it was available. Can not beat the location to 5th avenue (about 1 block) and to Mamitas Beach (about 2 blocks down a small decline). The home is just as the pictures show! Very well equipped and one big change from the last time I rented this home was the addition of the third master bedroom en-suite upstairs. The Jacuzzi tub is still there and they installed an outdoor shower as well! The 5 of us women enjoyed our stay so much:) Each bedroom has its own full bath; washer and dryer; and a very large balcony in front and observation deck on top! Thank you Myrna for a wonderful stay!

About the neighbourhood

This is an excellent spot from which to enjoy all that Playa del Carmen has to offer, including diving, sailing, excursions to the nearby Mayan ruins, theme parks, guided tours, golf, nightlife, shopping, ferry to Cozumel and it's attractions or both the Mamitas and Kool Beach Clubs, only steps away, with water sports, a dive shop, swimming pools and beachfront restaurants and bars

Getting around

Everything you would want or need is within walking distance of our condo. If you load up with groceries at the Mega Store, a taxi ride is only around US$ 5. There is a small car rental just around the corner if you wish to visit other towns or explore the ruins. There are many tours also available.

How to get there

Airport: Cancun International: 34.2 mi Ferry: Cosumel : 1.2 mi HOW DO WE GET THERE FROM CANCUN AIRPORT? If you are traveling to Playa del Carmen, you will likely land at Cancun International Airport (airport code: CUN). Passengers first clear Immigration then collect luggage for Customs and a possible inspection. Wait for instructions to press the red or green light that will determine whether you have been chosen for a search. After luggage clearance . Look for employees of the company you hired, an official taxi booth employee or an ADO Bus employee with the logo on his/her shirt. Once you exit the airport there are several options for ground transportation to Playa del Carmen, which is approximately 35 km south of the Cancun airport and about a 45 minute to one hour ride. Options are available for ADO Bus, private and shared vans upon arrival. Other options: Taxi, rental, Express bus. ADO bus is the least expensive means of reaching PDC and you'll have to take a taxi (US$6.00) from the main bus top in Playa to your condo at Las Olas. If you are a party of more than two and have considerable baggage, a one way van rental would be best which would take only 45 minutes and take you directly to Las Olas. WHERE IS THE PROPERTY? Las Olas condominium is located in the heart of Playa's Italian district on the corner of 1st Ave. and Calle 28, a short walk to the beach and ½ block from Fifth Avenue. Fifth Avenue is a world famous, 40+-block pedestrian promenade with relaxed cafes and gourmet restaurants, exclusive lounges, and al fresco bars, intriguing boutiques and local purveyors of all types and variety. If you don't speak Spanish and the driver doesn't know where Las Olas is, just tell him Mamitas Beach. Las Olas is at the top of the road. DO WE NEED A CAR? Not necessarily because Playa is pedestrian friendly and we are close to everything. We typically walk or cab around town and rent a car on an as needed basis for regional excursions. Penthouse Vista Azul has its own secure parking spot in front just below the terrace .
