My Condo Rental in Playa Del Carmen"
Having stayed in the Elements in 2012, this was no comparison. It was not directly on the beach but only a 5 minute walk which was perfectly fine. The problem was that we were told we could rent beach chairs an umbrella's and that was not available. We didn't use the beach at all because of this. There was nothing in the apartment for us to use either (ie beach chairs, beach towels/blankets etc) so we were stuck at the pool. The pool area was small but adequate. There was no workout facility in the complex. As far as the accommodations go, i would say they were adequate - nothing special. The housekeeping staff was wonderful as usual.
The location of the property was good as it was still an easy walk to 5th avenue where all the shops and restaurants are located which is key!!!
I might return but i'd be more than certain to discuss lots of details in advance with the BRIC staff because they knew of the property but not enough about the beach access or what the condo should have in it to make our stay more enjoyable.

Perfect for our family vacation
I can't emphasize enough how amazing our stay at the Elements was (Unit 214). We're a young couple with 3 kids (6,4,1.5) so it was important to find a place that balanced our "grown up" tastes while being kid friendly. We hit the jackpot at the Elements!
First, both the owner and the management company were first class- responsive, accommodating, and with the goal of making our stay as pleasant as possible. At Bric, I'm specifically referring to Stephanie and Nikki- thanks to you both!
The unit- clean and well appointed. Kitchen was well stocked (we chose the grocery option upon arrival and so glad we did). A nice surprise is they provide toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc) and the daily maid service was also a nice-to-have in a condo setting- she made our beds, did our dishes and laundry every day! The floor to ceiling windows in the unit allowed us to enjoy the views and of course we spent quite a bit of lounging time on the large outdoor patio.
The pool- incredible. If you have young kids, this is as good as it gets. There are enough areas in the pool that are ~6 inches deep so your little toddlers can safely play in the water without having to go to a separate kiddie pool.
The beach- very nice. I don't know what all the fuss is about- yes there are some locals who post up nearby but it doesn't take away from your experience. We did not smell the sulphur others have talked about and if you want more action, the beach club next door has it and we enjoyed a couple meals there while our kids danced to their techno music!
Location- sure it's a little north of the main town area but we walked into town every day, and when I say we, I'm referring to my 6 and 4 year olds too (our 1.5 year old was in a stroller). So if they can handle it, well, enough said. Besides, whenever you need a taxi, they're readily available right out front.
