Bird lovers will enjoy watching the various families of waterfowl on the lake, including our indigenous pair of swans, herons and our kingfisher who flies up and down both the lake and the stream and can be seen sitting on the railings near the end cabin, Kingfisher, so named. Ramblers and cyclists alike will enjoy the miles of walks straight from the cabin gates with panoramic views of the Pewsey Vale from Martinsell Hill and of course we are on the National 4 cycle trail. Our ancient Savernake Forest is only a 5 minute drive away and is quite stunningly beautiful whether you are walking, picnicking or cycling. The cabins provide a superb holiday base from which to explore the ancient county of Wiltshire and are easily accessed from the M3 and M4. Furthermore, the airports of London Heathrow, Bristol, Southampton and Bournemouth are between one and one and a half hours drive away. The local village of Pewsey is less than two miles away and boasts a good supermarket, butcher, baker, petrol station, garage, Indian restaurant, cafes and pubs and it also has a railway station with a fast train service to London and the West Country. No smoking is allowed in the cabins but can be enjoyed outside under the cover of the veranda. Well behaved dogs welcome and verandas now have gates therefore secure for dogs and young children. Flexible changeover days - see Conditions.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hard to leave!
We booked the Dragonfly cabin and from the moment we booked Nicky was amazing. Extremely accommodating, understanding and friendly. The cabin itself was stunning. Very comfortable and a home away from home. It was so difficult to leave we had to extend our stay! It is very apparent that a lot of thought and care has gone in to the cabins to ensure guest comfort. The views were fabulous and the surrounding peace was amazing. I was very reluctant to write a review, purely because I'd have liked to have kept this wonderful place to myself. I highly recommend Willowbank Lodges. It is the perfect place to escape the busy on the go life and get away from it all. We already planning our next trip! Thank you Nicky 😊

Enchanting
looking for somewhere near Savernak Forest as had never been. Dragonfly turned out to be perfect, near Savernak (terrific woodland) but the bonus was the doorstep canal walk to Pewsey which was was gentle and easy to manage. Marlborough, wonderful shops and people watching from road side cafe. Dragonfly perfect in all ways, peaceful, quiet, warm, gallons of hot water and excellently equipped kitchen. Bed soooo comfortable with goose down quilt and feather pillows...totally relaxing.

Beautiful setting and wonderful lodge
We loved the lodge and the site. It was so peaceful and such a lovely place to stay. We have never been to Wiltshire before and will definitely return and stay again at Willowbank Lodges. 5 out of 5 stars for location and quality of accommodation. Everything we needed was provided and there were very clear explanations and directions given for use of heating, water etc. Cleanliness was of a very high standard.

Fabulous holiday lodge
This is the second time we've stayed in Dragonfly and we love it. The lodge is always clean and cosy and well furnished and is equipped with everything you could need. The beds are really comfy, (important for me). Sitting on the veranda in the sun is heaven. It's in a lovely position with the stream at the front and the lake with resident swans and geese on site. Nicky is always really friendly and helpful. It's positioned just outside of Pewsey , which has a co-op and really good Indian restaurant. The canal tow path is a 2 minute walk from the lodge. If you carry on walking up the road over the canal you can go straight up Martinsell Hill which has great views of Pewsey Vale. We love it here and hope to be able to return really soon.

Very Cosy
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Willowbank Lodges. It was a great home away from home. The decor was first class and absolutely lovely. Everything we could have possibly needed was provided. The view from the Veranda of the lake is very pleasant and I will definitely recommend this place to any friends Or family looking to escape from the hustle & bustle of London

Hello Samena, Thank you for your lovely review and it was a pleasure having you and your family to stay - I only regret I was away when you came here as it would have been nice to meet you after so many telephone conversations! I am glad you had such an enjoyable stay, despite the bad weather I heard you were having, I do try to make my guests as comfortable as possible and it is great to hear that it felt so homely.

Perfect Christmas
Very spacious and comfortable accommodation. Well equipped kitchen and good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. We spent the Christmas period in 3 of the chalets (3 families) next to each other - each chalet had a decorated Christmas tree! Warm and cosy, despite cold, snowy weather. Would recommend.

Very good log cabins
The cabin with two bedrooms has so much room, inside and outside. The layout is perfect, especially the kitchen, which is well supplied with accoutrements. Having two bathrooms is great and the beds are most comfortable. Outside has a calm disposition, being surrounded with trees. All in, a first class place for a relaxing holiday.

Map
About the neighbourhood
Pewsey is a charming little village which is less than two miles from Willowbank Lodges and, although small, boasts a surprising number of ameneties. We have an excellent supermarket open seven days a week, a butcher, baker (delicious old fashioned donuts and lardy bread!) petrol station, post office, bank, gift shops, florists, art gallery and visitor centre, internet cafe and various coffee shops and pubs. In addition, we have an excellent award winning tennis club where Willowbank Lodges has membership for its guests and a leisure centre with a swimming pool, squash courts, etc. Slightly further afield, Marlborough boasts a large variety of restaurants and pubs, boutiques, antique shops, two fine churches and has the widest high street in the country. Now it is probably more famous for its International Jazz Festival which takes place in July (13th-15th this year) – a glut of musicians and singers, new bands and old favourites from all over the world, really an experience not to miss. Another music festival taking place this year (April 14th) just north of Marlborough is OneFest with Damon Albarn giving us a preview of his Dr Dee. Local artists open up their studios (Open Studios) to the public during four weekends in July so what with other local musical and artistic events, plenty for those who want to absorb a little local culture. For those crop circle enthusiasts, we are right in the midst of crop circle country and usually there are quite a number of sometimes quite spectacular crop circles to be found on the Downs or in the Vale, within 10 minutes drive of Willowbank Lodges.

Notes from owner
The calendars show Friday to Friday prices though in the off peak seasons I can often accommodate other start dates so please do enquire. In the peak summer months I will occasionally take a Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday booking but am mostly looking for a minimum of a one week booking. Please note that the nightly rate shown is that for the minimum 3 night stay. If you choose 4, 5 or 6 nights then the daily rate becomes cheaper so please ask for a quote. I do not do one night bookings but may consider a two night booking so please do ask! Dogs are charged at £3 per night and currently I am adding a small fee of £20 to each booking to cover the additional laundry and cleaning costs as a result of Covid.Longer term lets considered so please enquire for a quote.
