Ramblers and cyclists alike will enjoy the miles of walks straight from the cabin gates with panoramic views of the Pewsey Vale from Martinsell Hill and of course we are on the National 4 cycle trail. Our ancient Savernake Forest is only a 5 minute drive away and is quite stunningly beautiful whether you are walking, picnicking or cycling. The cabins provide a superb holiday base from which to explore the ancient county of Wiltshire and are easily accessed from the M3 and M4. Furthermore, the airports of London Heathrow, Bristol, Southampton and Bournemouth are between one and one and a half hours drive away. The local village of Pewsey is less than two miles away and boasts a good supermarket, butcher, baker, petrol station, garage, Indian restaurant, cafes and pubs and it also has a railway station with a fast train service to London and the West Country. Regretfully, no smoking is allowed in the cabins but dogs are! Flexible changeover days - see Conditions.

Superior Log Cabins at Willowbank Lodges in Wiltshire
Wow what a beautiful location and luxurious log cabin. This is an ideal holiday location for 2 couples or families. Having 2 super king beds in the large bedrooms, deluxe/high quality bedding, fully equipped kitchen, extremely tastefully decorated lounge with 2 sofas’, utility room and every need catered for. Books and maps etc. plentiful. Kingfisher cabin is private with a large veranda and plenty of seating for a relaxing afternoon/evening. This cabin overlooks the stream/willow tree and is frequented by swans their signets and ducks. We found the owner ‘Nicky’ to be extremely pleasant and the booking process efficient. All in all, a 5-star recommendation for this accommodation. For the best price(s) check the owner’s own website.

Tranquil & rejuvenating half term spent in the lap of nature; Happy kids, happier mum & dad, happiest yellow lab Julius!
Warm and cosy nights spent in this clean, friendly and well stocked up Kingfisher cabin...made some wonderful memories, playing board games, watching the stars with telescope, listening to crickets and River Avon gurgling by...waking up birds chirping and no aeroplanes zooming past...nor rush hours of the city.. Days spent exploring around Savernake forest, Day trip to Bath and Longleat Safari all nearby and spotted the Wiltshire White Horses, finished reading the novel finally! Gated balcony was fantastic for our dog and two girls 10 & 5 to enjoy the nature with us while we sipped our morning tea looking at the greenery and birds around... Nicky thought of every little thing that young families would enjoy; Dishwasher made cooking home meals easy and her towels and bedding are the best! Stylishly designed décor of the rooms, blankets for chilly nights, cooking oil in cupboard...it was as if I was home all the while during our 4 nights stay at the Kingfisher...have already recommended to close friends and family who saw the pics and went WOW! Looking forward to returning in summer!

Warm and cozy
Our few nights stay over Easter was incredibly wet weather. But Kingfisher lodge was warm and cozy! It had everything we needed: Cebeebies,Large roomy shower,Spacious, even a room to put your muddy boots and wet coats and it was very warm and cozy. It was in a great location to visit some fascinating places! Like Stonehenge,Lacock Abbey,Longleat and more!

Perfect accommodation if you are walking along the Kennet and Avon Canal
We were a group of seven adults renting two lodges. Each lodge was spacious allowing us to eat and relax together. The lodges were spotless with everything you may need for your stay supplied. You can walk to the canal in a few minutes with lovely walks in both directions. Don’t miss the amazing Caen Hill flight of locks at Devizes. We rented a narrowboat for a day which gave us a break from walking. We had a lovely week made even better with our choice of accommodation.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful location and pet friendly
We stayed for one week and found the Kingfisher Lodge very comfortable, warm and welcoming and the covered veranda a big plus with the unpridictable english weather. Lovely that the owner has made attention to detail i,e having comfy outdoor furniture so you can enjoy watching the wildlife in peace and quiet. We cannot recommend this lodge enough and will be returning again soon. Ollie the cocker spaniel loved it too especially the walks along the canal.

A charmer via First Class accomodations
We stayed for five days at the Willowbank Lodges, Heron's Nest cabin. Out in the country away from the city. A rare gem of calm and beauty in a busy world. Clean, spacious, well lit, and well stocked. A tributary of the Avon river ran gently in front of our cabin delighting us with ducks, geese, and swans (who, by the way were raising their five cygnets). The hostess, Nicky, has an eye to what her clients needed. Great beds and plenty of pillows (we enjoyed a kIng size) with well washed, crisp white sheets; well stocked bathrooms with plenty of hot water, towel warmers, and plenty of room to move around; the kitchen was well stocked and included all the amenities, ie, dishwasher, tea and coffee kettle, microwave, etc. Sit down in the comfortable front room to a well established satellite big screen TV with a full band of channels, or bring your own video (DVD), magazine and books. We used our cabin as a main stay to outreach the various historical and cultural sights of SW England: Pendennis Castle, Stonehenge and Woodhenge, Glastonbury, Wells Cathedral, Bath, Blenheim Palace (Churchill's residence): all within an hour from Willowbank. We did travel to Cornwall (Tintagel to Penzance which took around 2 1/2 hours) and Wales but those were more leisurely day trips. Our hostess was charming and addressed each of her guests with detailed e-mails and set up the cabins with our requests. We would return again as it is an ideal place to retreat from a busy schedule.

We stayed for one week and found the Kingfisher Lodge very comfortable, warm and welcoming. Everything you needed was provided and was situated in a very quiet and peaceful surroundings. We cannot recommend this lodge enough. The lady who owns the lodges was most helpful and we will return.

About the neighbourhood
Pewsey is a charming little village which is less than two miles from Willowbank Lodges and, although small, boasts a surprising number of ameneties. We have an excellent supermarket open seven days a week, a butcher, baker (delicious old fashioned donuts and lardy bread!) petrol station, post office, bank, gift shops, florists, art gallery and visitor centre, internet cafe and various coffee shops and pubs. In addition, we have an excellent award winning tennis club where Willowbank Lodges has membership for its guests and a leisure centre with a swimming pool, squash courts, etc. Slightly further afield, Marlborough boasts a large variety of restaurants and pubs, boutiques, antique shops, two fine churches and has the widest high street in the country. Now it is probably more famous for its International Jazz Festival which takes place in July (13th-15th this year) – a glut of musicians and singers, new bands and old favourites from all over the world, really an experience not to miss. Another music festival taking place this year (April 14th) just north of Marlborough is OneFest with Damon Albarn giving us a preview of his Dr Dee. Local artists open up their studios (Open Studios) to the public during four weekends in July so what with other local musical and artistic events, plenty for those who want to absorb a little local culture. For those crop circle enthusiasts, we are right in the midst of crop circle country and usually there are quite a number of sometimes quite spectacular crop circles to be found on the Downs or in the Vale, within 10 minutes drive of Willowbank Lodges.

Notes from owner
The calendars show Friday to Friday prices though in the off peak seasons I can often accommodate other start dates so please do enquire. In the peak summer months I will occasionally take a Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday booking but am mostly looking for a minimum of a one week booking. Please note that the nightly rate shown is that for the minimum 3 night stay. If you choose 4, 5 or 6 nights then the daily rate becomes cheaper so please ask for a quote. I do not do one night bookings but may consider a two night booking so please do ask! Dogs are £3 per night and currently I am adding a small fee of £20 to each booking to cover the additional laundry and cleaning costs as a result of Covid. Longer term lets considered so please enquire for a quote.
