Comfort downtown
This penthouse is on one of the main streets of San Miguel, only 10-15 minutes' walk from the main square and a multitude of attractions. It can get a bit noisy but tolerably so. It is beautifully designed in Mexican style. The best part is the top deck with a view of the old town. The two large bedrooms are comfortable and airy. There's a complete kitchen for anyone wanting to cook. We didn't as a food market offering roast chickens etc. is only one block away.
There are no electrical appliances such as a dishwasher and washer-dryer, just a sink and drying rack, perfectly adequate for us. Drinking water was delivered and the flat kept spotless by staff.
There's lots to do in San Miguel and this is the place to do it from.

Comfortable apartment 1o minutes walk from Cento
Salvador’s two bedroom apartment plus roof deck is even nicer than the photos, Located in a very safe neighborhood 10 minutes up hill walk to the Centro, it is just around the block from a large indoor market, and close as well to small grocery stores. Wonderful colorful tiles throughout, the apt is spacious and well furnished, Beds comfortable , lovely view of the city from the roof deck. Salvador met is on arrival, and was kind and helpful always. Our only complaint is that the lighting in the dining room area was inadequate, so it was a bit dark at meal times, But we had a good stay for two weeks, and would certainly go back.

San Miguel Penthouse
The penthouse, located at 148 Canal Street, is a good value. The property is actual a 3 story duplex with an east and a west unit. We rented the west unit. The location is about a 8 minute walk up the hill to the central plaza, not a bad walk but it is uphill the whole way. The condo itself was spacious with a kitchen, dining, sitting room and 1/2 bath on the 1st level. The only TV is a flat screen in the sitting room that has local MegaCable service with 60-70 channels but only 2 in English. We were going to stream Netflix but there wasn’t a HDMI cable to hook the Apple TV to because of the cable service.
Upstairs there is the only full bath and 2 bedrooms, 1 a loft open to the 1st level. The beds and linens were adequate but not luxurious. The stairway to the rooftop terrace is accessed from the loft so privacy is not so good for that bedroom.
The terrace is large with a good view to the west, but the better view is to the east towards the central plaza and the churches. So if you have the option, rent the east unit with the view.
There is a charcoal grill on the terrace but no charcoal or lighter fluid, there was a drip coffee maker but no coffee so you will have to go to the market for basic supplies. We ran out of potable water but Salvador got us more the next day.
Taxi service is a hit or miss proposition, we had to wait 10-5 minutes several times before an empty one came by. We tried several numbers to call cabs, none of which were answered consistently mostly either rolling to voicemail or just never being answered so leave plenty of time if you are planning to use taxis.

Great location.
We enjoyed our stay. Large bedrooms, comfortable mattress. Perfect for 2 couples or a family. House was in a good location to the main square. Streets had sidewalks. Lots of restaurants & groceries near by.
