This shoreline resort is a short 5 minute walk to San Jose's Estuary and Bird Sanctuary and a 15-20 minute walk to shops and stores off Paseo del Estero in the Zona Hotelera. Even when the resort is at full capacity, it feels calm, quiet, relaxing, roomy and sparse. The Grand Mayan 2BR Master Suite includes: * 1 bedroom, with a king-size bed and sofa-sleeper for 2 children * 1 bedroom, with a king-size bed * 2 en-suite bathrooms, each with jacuzzi tubs * Living room with sofa-sleeper for 2 adults * Ocean views from each room in the suite * Terrace with plunge pool (unheated) * Kitchen & dining table * 3 LCD televisions * Free in-room internet access * Accommodates 6 adults + 2 children * Air conditioning * Complementary transportation from Los Cabos airport The Grand Mayan resort includes: * 9-hole golf course, situated on a desert landscape, between the turquoise Sea of Cortez and the Sierra de La Laguna Mountains * Tennis club, with two lighted hard courts and a tennis pro who can provide lessons (for an additional fee) * Brio Spa and Salon, which offers massages & facials, a steam room, sauna, hot tub and cold plunge, and Swiss showers (segregated by gender). * Brio Fitness Center, with free weights, stationary bicycles, elliptical & spinning machines, along with a variety of group classes (Spin & Trim, Yoga, Boot Camp, Zumba, Cardio Abs, Stretching and spinning), personal trainers, TV, towels and ice-cold water. * A broad spectrum of entertainment options for adults & children, including Pool Bike exercise, Spanish lessons, dinner shows like Fiesta Mexicana, beach volleyball, karaoke, live Cuban music, pinata making and other crafts at the Kid's Club. * 190 yards of beach * 4 pristine pools * 5 bars & restaurants * 1 Mayan Sanctuary Our membership includes the following amenity privileges: * 2 for 1 spa 50 minute massage * free internet * access to tennis club * use of all facilities of the gym and spa free of charge, but does not include food and beverages, facial or other spa treatments, personal training or any other hands-on services available at the gym and spa. Check-in begins at 5:00 PM, with the option to store luggage on the day of arrival. As customary with most major hotels, registration of a credit card will be required at the front desk, upon check-in for incidentals, etc. Check-out is before 10:00 AM, with the option to store luggage on the day or departure. In the event the unit is not vacated by 10:00 AM, guests will be responsible for an automatic late fee, currently a $325, subject to change. During the check-in process, you may be offered promotions to sit through a time-share presentation in exchange for excursions or other benefits, which is optional and can consume as much as a 1/2 day. Guests are expected to preserve a family atmosphere and not disturb neighbors. The resort has the right to evict any guest who disturbs the peace. Food and beverages are strictly prohibited in public areas, to keep public areas clean and preserve a good image. Towels and articles of clothing are strictly prohibited on balcony railings. Maids are authorized to remove towels or articles of clothing if placed in prohibited areas. No pets are allowed on the premises, except service animals. All trash must be deposited in plastic bags provided in the room. Free parking is available on the street; parking on the resort is limited to valet, with the resort not responsible for objects left in vehicles in the resort parking lot, accidents, dents or scratches, theft or burglary. In order to provide better security at the resort, guests will receive identification bracelets to be worn on the premises and a card for vehicles parked on the resort. to be placed on the inside windshield visible to the entrance security guard. Valet parking is roughly $20 per week, subject to change.

Getting around

The resort is located within a 5-10 minute walk to town in San Jose Del Cabo. In order to go down to Cabo San Lucas or explore other areas, you can catch the bus or rent a car. There is even a Costco along the bus route on the way down to Cabo San Lucas.

How to get there

To arrange complementary transportation from the airport to the resort, you will e-mail the resort concierge; the e-mail address will be provided upon booking. Transportation to The Grand Mayan is provided by Cape Travel. When you get through customs at the airport, look for a driver wearing beige pants and a blue shirt, carrying a sign marked with the Cape Travel logo. Passports are required for anyone traveling to Mexico, including children. When you pass through Immigration, the officer will give you a portion of your immigration form. Please keep this in a safe place — we recommend inside your passport — since you will need this upon departure from Mexico.
