Great cottage in beautiful surroundings
Seven girls and 2 bumps had a lovely stay for a weekend in Manor Cottage. It was cosy and comfortable and when the June weather resembled November weather a fire was lit for us in the evening. The owners daughter cooked us a fantastic dinner Saturday evening. I would really recommend this cottage for any length of stay. The beds were fantastic!

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location - fantastic!
A lovely house with plenty of space for a family of 6 adults and two children. Sunny garden, perfect for kids to play and grown ups to enjoy a glass of wine or two! All the bedrooms were spacious and nicely furnished and the bathrooms were very clean and had plenty of room. Fabulous views in every direction and in a lovely location for local walks or a drive to the numerous attractions, all within 30mins so fine even for young children. Everything we needed was available, we briefly saw Libba who was very friendly and welcoming, and it was easy to access when we arrived, even though we were early! We'd definitely sta again, with friends or family, as such a large lounge meant we weren't on top of each other! A wonderful holiday, and even the lack of mobile phone signal was actually relaxing!

Absolutely Fab...........
What a beautiful cottage for a family weekend ( or a large group of friends). Its large and comfortable and was spotlessly clean. Very well equipped with everything you may need, loads of cutlery/crockery and lots of extras....such as flasks, sandwich boxes etc. The beds were extremely comfortable, I'm an early riser but didn't wake until 8.45 on three consecutive mornings, that's how comfortable! And a big plus for us was each room is ensuite. Although not a detached building as is a wing of a large property, privacy is not an issue, yet owners are next door if you need anything ( we didn't). A short walk to the local pub and a short drive drive to Carsington Water (bikeable if your fit enough), and loads of other places to visit. Matlock Bath on a Sunday is always a must for us and Bakewell Market on Monday was a really good first. Overall a faultless weekend, including sunshine. We will definitely be booking again in the future. Wannell-Bonser/Shaws and little ones

Lovely spot
Lovely situation and convenient location. Comfortable house with all facilities. Little niggles like lights not working in the lounge - but on the whole a great place to stay.

Fantastic weekend with my friends in this beautiful cottage.
I recently organised a reunion weekend with my college friends for the Easter break and we picked this cottage based on location, description and it's reasonable pricing. We had a fantastic time and found that the cottage exceeded our expectations. One of the best parts of the weekend was the mealtimes with a large kitchen, a dining table plenty big enough to accommodate us and a pantry stocked with everything you need. We also loved the log fire, the views from the windows and we found the bedrooms a perfect size with en suites from every one. Libba was lovely and very helpful, we couldn't have gone to a better place! If you book up then we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Great family get together to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary
We found Manor Cottage perfect for our family get together. With ages from 18months to 65 years the property suited all. Lovely surrounding countryside and within walking distance of a good country pub. Our son and son in law found the "old man chairs" in the cottage great for sitting with a glass of brandy and sorting the worries of the world! Recommend the short drive to Dovedale, which is a stunning area made even better by the glorious weather.

A fantastic Manor house ideally set up for multiple couples and/or an extended family holiday.
OK, we were very lucky with the weather - 100% sunshine for the 10 day stay! The Manor house would be ideal in summer or winter for up to 4 couples or extended family. All the bedrooms were en-suite and the lounge/dining room was well equipped with comfy sofas, table and chairs to seat 10 and a well equipped larder; all mod cons in the kitchen too. We were made to feel extremely welcome and the bottle of wine on arrival was a very nice touch. There is a small garden outside with a large table and enough chairs to seat 10 around the table - strongly recommend that you bring a BBQ with you as one is not provided - we ate outside every night of the stay. Carsington Water is a 5 minute drive away and provides multiple water sports. The Miners Arms pub is a 10 minute walk from the house and serves reasonable food - be prepared for a wait on busy weekends though. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our choice and would most definitely book this holiday home again and would highly recommend to all.

Beautiful cottage, perfect for a long weekend away
We spent a lovely weekend in the cottage recently. It was the perfect central location for a group of old uni friends spread across the country, and a lovely setting for a relaxing weekend. The rooms were really comfortable and spacious, but cosy, and they were all en suite. The sitting room was beautiful and perfect for snuggling in front of the fire, and the kitchen and dining room had everything we needed and plenty of room for all of us to cook & sit round the table. There's very little phone reception which is a treat really but there was good wifi for those that wanted it. Sadly it was quite a short visit for us, but we did manage a bracing walk round the reservoir and a pub lunch at the Miners Arms. Had we have stayed longer there's lots of local attractions and beautiful local towns and villages to explore too. Libba was really helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage and hope to return soon.
