Overview
Condo/Apartment -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 6
Bargemon, Var, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur
Located on the first floor of an old village house, with immediate access from the street, this spacious, light and high-ceiling apartment has large rooms and a homely feel. Both sitting room and main bedroom look out over the valley to the south and so benefit from the early- to mid-morning sun, which streams through the tall, old fashioned-windows. On these kinds of mornings, it is lovely to fling open the windows and admire the views and street below. A decent-sized terrace, shaded in Summer by an overhead vine, is directly accessible from the large, well-equipped kitchen at the back of the building. For the Winter months and for those wanting full-afternoon sun in Summer, an upper garden-terrace is available, up a few, fairly steep steps. This apartment sleeps 4 comfortably, with an option of accommodating an extra two people on the... Read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Judy's light-filled, spacious apartment. With everything we needed to feel at home, we spent two delightful weeks exploring the village and the surrounding region, always grateful, after a day out and about, to be returning to such a comfortable...More

Hi Nancy, So pleased that you both enjoyed your stay and particularly liked the space and the kitchen! Those are the aspects we also appreciate. I gather you liked the village so much, you have put in an offer for your own pied de terre!...More

First, the flip side: initially we were rather put off by the smell of plumbing in the closed apartment but it soon went away as we opened all windows. The 'common' loo for both bedrooms required a little system to be implemented but was fine...More

Really nice stay in bargemon, accomodation has everything you need for a holiday, walking distance to village and restaurants, just a hours drive to great places near to the coast. Didn't miss not having a t.v but a radio would of been nice,.

Thank Sally F

About the neighbourhood
Bargemon is a quiet historical village within easy access of Cote d’Azur attractions. Neighbouring villages Callas, Clavier, Seillans & Fayence are all worth visiting for markets, music, art, history & outdoor activities. Locally, there is hiking & trail-running through forests, para-gliding, horse-riding, tennis, golf, swimming in public pool, mountain biking & more. The closest large town is Draguignan, approx 30 min drive, but most basic groceries & services, can be sourced in Bargemon itself. Market day is Thursday morning & if you miss that, Callas, just down the road has its market on a Saturday. A little further afield but more extensive are the markets of Fayence (Saturday am)& Le Muy (Thursday & Sunday am).

It is best to have a car unless your purpose is just to rest and walk around the village and forests!

How to get there
Airport: Nice (or Toulon): 85.0 km
Railway: Les Arcs Draguignan: 31.0 km
The nearest airport to Bargemon is Nice, which is around a 80 to 90-minute drive away. Coming from Nice along the A8 you can either take exit 39 Fayence or exit 36 at Le Muy. The latter is obviously further along the A8 and a few more tolls, but is slightly less of a twisty road and is often quicker. Make sure you have some Euros or chip and pin credit cards for the toll gates on the A8 Autoroute. Just let us know if you need more details on directions.
The nearest train station is Les Arcs and from there, you will need to take a 45 minute or so taxi ride. Unless you plan to just walk and relax, you will be a bit stuck in Bargemon without a car.
