The location is excellent, 10 mins walk to beach. 10 minutes drive to West Bay or Bridport where nearest big supermarket is Morrisons. The accommodation was perfect for our needs. We stayed at Schooner cottage which has washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Walk in shower which worked well. Any issues Kim will try to help. Balcony view was amazing. We will be back. Many thanks Kim and family.

Spacious, comfortable, warm, clean, well equipped and with views of the sea from every window.
We found Cutter Cottage to be all we wanted in a holiday cottage with the added benefit of spectacular sea views from every window. We walked along the coast path just in front of the cottage to The Hive Restaurant where we had a lovely meal.

Perfect family cottage
Really enjoyed our stay in Brigantine cottage. Was much more spacious than the pics show. A true beach cottage it was clean and agree the furnishings a little dated, it was perfect for a beach going family. Really good sized kitchen as well. View of the water lovely & yes there is a caravan park in front of the cottages but still gorgeous. Kids loved spotting the rabbits everywhere and can’t beat having SW coast path right there. 10 min walk to Hive Beach with a great cafe and picnic tables too. Location within Dorset really handy for day trips too. Had a great week, can’t wait to return

Shame such a lovely location
Visited Brigantine cottage with friends for a week. It is true the location is super and the views stunning but sadly this cottage needs a thorough deep clean and some tlc overall. The kitchen was actually the cleanest part of the cottage, which was good considering the need for hygiene even moreso at the moment regarding coronavirus situation. The bedrooms and lounge were dusty and dirty, the windows were so dirty we couldn't see out of them and the balcony needs to be completely overhauled. It is such a beautiful part of the coast and the cottage sells itself on location and views but cleanliness and hygiene is a massive issue.

The Sloop
What a beautiful location, staying in very welcoming accommodation and part of the world. Clean and tidy, toasty warm and views to never tire of. This was our first break away for many years due to unforseen family circumstances and with our newest member to the family, a very excited rescue Border Collie who absolutely adored watching the rabbits and masses of wagtails down below the balcony, we had a fabulous break! The beds were so comfortable and even in some very strong onshore winds, The Sloop felt safe, warm and just... peaceful. Kim was pottering around the cottages when we arrived and welcomed us, showing us around the cottage, making us all feel extremely welcome. The coast path is literally on your doorstep and leads to sea and sand (and fossils!) in either direction. Thoroughly enjoyed Cogden Cottages and Burton Bradstock! Excellent value for money. Thank you Kim.

We were concerned re pet friendly but were after wet room facilities. Owner reassured us that few lets actually bring dogs as need the wet room more. On arrival the Schooner cottage was in a poor state of cleanliness especially throughout floors, kitchen and lounge. Horrendous smell of dogs which had obviously been in kitchen, and on all furniture in lounge evidenced by the state of both and dog biscuits around perimeter of kitchen, on furniture and even wet dog food in mop bucket. Outer kitchen cabinets and worktops were all sticky and messy, floors throughout were dirty, marked and dusty and pools of water were still in the lounge. All windows were filthy. Contacted Kim who confirmed the previous let were awful and had let dog(s) do whatever they wanted including messing in and outside of the cottages. She did what she could but it was still in a very poor state and she came and cleaned the sofa again as it was unusable by the smell, dirt on and in it, even had a mobile phone inside - no way could it be used as a sofa bed. We would have been more impressed if she had called us to say her concerns and either give us the choice of cancelling or arriving a day later so a more thorough clean could be done. As it was we considered just leaving but after travelling quite a way we decided to clean through the cottage ourselves which took 4 hours, a litre of flash with a little bleach, a hired vacuum and 3 bottles of febreze fabric conditioner. Covering the furniture with some cheap throws it was much more bearable alas not what you expect from arriving on holiday. The place has massive potential and once was clearly of a high grade but maintenance has severely slipped, evidenced in the kitchen floor subsiding as not fully fitted, worktops dropping, items being rearranged in cabinets as base ones are failing, cracks in walls, gaps in windows etc. Combine this with a poor clean/let and first impressions last. Kim the owner is lovely and approachable, the bedding/curtains/towels were as clean and new, the views superb and the locals and surrounding areas wonderful but desperately let down by what has been outlined. We would have been back in September like a shot had things been different but too much of a gamble re cleanliness/upkeep sadly. Our recommendation would be to stop taking any more bookings on the Schooner, do a full refurb and relet as no pets (other than guide dogs) and disability/wheelchair friendly and you would have solid bookings throughout the season.

Stunning views and good location for walks
Down a very steep, almost hidden drive, the cottages are set above the caravan with a rabbit filled grassy area immediately in front of them. Perfect for wild life and wild flower walks and just the right distance from The Hive cafe (you feel you might just have earned a cake) and the lovely little village of Burton Bradstock. Lots of people fishing off the beach and some almost daily paraglider to watch from the deck, which has a 180 degree coastal view. Nice layout of the cottage. Only real criticism is that I would have cleaned a bit more thoroughly... I dropped an earring under the bed and ... well, I got it back but wished I hadn't looked.
