About the neighbourhood
Alstonefield has won the best village award many times in the past. It is a stunning village with a close knit community who are always friendly and willing to help. Alstonefield is actually built on a limestone plateau, which is 900 feet above sea level, making for lovely views. There is a popular old coaching inn just in front of the old wool market, and shops that used to thrive on the silk industry, making silk buttons! It is a wonderful village, with craft shops and galleries to potter about in as well as being the link to the wonderful countryside all around. Great central location. Near to Chatsworth House, Sudbury Hall, Alton Towers, Matlock Bath, Carsington Water, Crich Tramway Museum. Dale walks, cycle trails and climbing ,
Getting around
The Moorlands Connect bus can be booked - collection at the end of the Drive - destination is to small villages and town Nearest train station is at Buxton 15 miles Buses from Hartington 4 miles away
