Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Exceptional accommodation in stunning Derbyshire countryside
We've just returned from a repeat visit to Brow Farm. We cannot rate this property highly enough. The cottage is beautiful; it's very clean, spacious and comfortable, with some thoughtful welcome touches for our dog. The hosts, Cath & Dave, made us very welcome too and the farm looks out onto stunning views of the Goyt Valley. There are incredible walks in the locality and some excellent pubs and restaurants nearby. We'll definitely be back for another visit.

A great place to stay
A return trip of many now to Brow Farm Cottage. A lovely, comfortable and convenient cottage, with all the amenities you could wish for, making it an ideal place to stay in the High Peak. Very helpful hosts on hand to answer any queries, with recommendations for local eating and walks etc, but also a quiet and peaceful place to stay, Surrounded by countryside on all sides but just on the edge of New Mills, the cottage has fabulous views right across the valley and to one side towards Manchester and the other amazing views into the Peak District. A great place to stay.

Ideal location in a clean and spacious property
A second time at this property which says it all. Ideally situated with expansive views of the River Goyt Valley, this property is clean, spacious and has all the facilities a family of six might want. Off road parking is a bonus and the town of New Mills is within easy walking distance with a local Sainsbury's and Co-Op and carry out restaurants. I recommend you experience the Millennium Walkway along the river Goyt and call in at The Shrub Club across from it for a convivial atmosphere and liquid refreshment. Also, 'up the road' from the farm is the Fox Inn, a good pub, from where you can carry on and do a circular loop back to the farm along the Peak Forest Canal, a walk of some seven miles. Further afield, if you like walking, go to Castleton and tackle the Mam Tor Ridge. For shopping and culture visit Buxton, but avoid the Main Street spending your time at more up market emporiums near the Opera House and the park.

Wonderful peaceful stay
The Holiday Cottage at Brow Farm is in a stunning location, and only a half hour drive from parts of Manchester. We visited for a family reunion as we have family in the area. The cottage is beautiful inside with a large kitchen and lovely lounge overlooking the entrance hall. There is plenty parking and a garden area to enjoy the views. The cottage is very comfy and well equipped throughout. We really enjoyed getting to know Dave and the chickens on the farm and had some visits into Manchester and to nearby Peak District. Chatsworth House well worth a visit! The nearby park on High Lea Road has loads of play equipment for kids. There are also shops and takeaways only a ten minute walk away and the farm was easy to find from directions given. Dave and Cath had left instructions for everything in the cottage and a folder with lots of helpful tips and recommendations. They were very friendly and welcoming and also said to get in touch if there were any problems. We would definitely look to stay again as there is so much to do in the area and the cottage makes a lovely quiet base.

Fantastic!
We have just returned from a family holiday at Brow Farm and we were absolutely blown away by the cottage. Cath and Dave were wonderful hosts and so accommodating. They were on hand to offer advice on walks and pubs and were happy for us to walk around their beautiful farm and ask lots of questions about their animals! The cottage and farm are spotlessly clean and it was fantastic value for money. The silkie chickens outside of the cottage are also a lovely touch! We can’t wait to come back soon!

Wet and Windy but no matter
Booked for three nights during half term and to use as a base for our trip to Liverpool from Essex. Property was excellent with good size bedrooms, living space and fully equipped Kitchen. The owners live next door and we’re very welcoming, friendly and approachable. They were on hand to answer any questions we had during our stay. The property is well located in the Peak District with beautiful views over the High Peak and within close proximity to New Mills. Although the Weather wasn’t great and limited us to mainly staying in doors the property was great and wasn’t really an issue. Really wouldn’t hesitate in recommending and would definitely book again in order that we can enjoy the surrounding areas and explore the many walks.

Clean, comfortable and convenient and suitable for a family encompassing al ages.
Situated in private environs overlooking an expansive valley, the property is located within easy walking distance of NewMills. Inside the property is spacious and spotlessly clean with all necessary kitchen equipment for those who wish to self cater. The kids in the party enjoyed the nearby park which is terrific, probably the best we have ever come across. For active adults there are top notch walks starting from the door. We can particularly recommend a loop that takes in the Peak Forest Canal and the Goyt Way, including the Millennium Bridge. Refreshments may be had en route at the Fox Inn at Brook Bottom. Would we return? Without hesitation and hope to do so.

Absolutely amazing cottage!
Ideal location in New Mills with idyllic views of the countryside with the Swizzels factory in the distance. Very well equipped cottage with all the home comforts with welcome pack from the owners. Owners were very friendly, made you feel welcome and were on hand if we needed any help. The Fox Inn at Broombrook is 10 mins walk, everyone is made welcome and the food is amazing. Lots of local walks from the cottage and local attractions not too far away by car. Visit Castleton and enjoy the walks and the caverns, lots of places to eat and few local gift shops.

Superb cottage in the beautiful Peak District
Stylish, warm and cosy cottage attached to the farm house with a beautiful view. There were very welcoming and thoughtful touches such as milk, tea, coffee and eggs and delicious home made brownies. Our dog Alfie was not left out with a bed, bowls, poo bags and biscuits. Spotlessly clean and plenty of space. Great area to explore on the edge of the Peak District. Thank you Cath and Dave for a great weekend.

BEAUTIFUL, COSY, SPOTLESS COTTAGE
6 friends stayed here for a long weekend for a friends wedding. The cottage was more than we expected. It’s family run, spotlessly clean, super cosy in Winter with homemade cake and freshly laid eggs on arrival. Emails were answered promptly, directions were very clear and helpful and everything you could need is available. Home from home. Highly recommend and will be back soon to explore the area more.
