We enjoyed our stay very much. Beautiful views outside the cottage. Good Dog walking area. Plenty of places to visit in the area. Close to Clay Cross for shopping. Nice Butcher's and coffee shop not too far away. Steep hill down to Ashover, but a relaxing place when arrived there. Weather was very kind to us.

This place is a gem, extremely comfortable and welcoming. Susan was so friendly, the welcome tray was a really lovely gesture. We were central to all locations and the walk into ashover was a nice steady walk which we did several times when visiting the pubs. Couldn't fault anything. Very well equipped and very clean beautiful views lovely welcome pack and toiletries central to attractions ie chatsworth house Haddon hall matlock and bakewell

During most of the year we can offer changeover days of Friday, Saturday or Monday for weekly stays and Fridays or Mondays for short breaks. Please contact us if you have different requirements. We try to be flexible where possible. Please check our website for short break prices for specific dates. The rental includes all heating, electricity and other running costs plus an initial supply of logs and coal for the open fire. Towels and bedding are all included in the price. We do not charge extra if you want to bring a pet unless you fail to notify us in advance.

Our two cottages are situated in the small village of Alton close to Ashover. They are 5 miles from both Matlock and Chesterfield but there is no public transport in the village so a car is essential. Travelling time from either junction 28 or 29 of the M1 motorway is around 20 minutes.<BR><BR>
