Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

It's no secret, This is I❤️Whight's best place to stay.
I can't rave about this place enough. My wife want to move to the island, my oldest learned how to sleep an entire night on his own and my youngest started crawling here. This enchanting cottage has it all. All the mod cons with a home style feel in a 16th century setting. Everything is provided, that's a capital E everything. We even got a home cooked meal for our late arrival. Central location and secure private parking. Cost, clean quiet and just plain lovely! It goes without saying that this gem of an accommodation is made by its hosts. Ali and her husband really pull out the stops. Communication is prompt and excellent. Good balance between privacy and advice. You can tell the BrewHouse is a labor of love. These hosts really Care! My only gripe is that we now have to plan our trip to the Isle of Wight even earlier to make sure we get to stay here again!

Great stay with everything the kids needed.
We had a lovely stay here. Everything we needed for the kids was already there, toys, stair gate, high chairs, plates etc. Cosy sofas for curling up in the evening in front of the log burner. Would highly recommend

A Fairytale!
What a special place this is, the pictures sold it for us however in person this cottage and surrounding area is just magical. We can not wait to come back. Everything was perfectly ready for our arrival and nothing was too much for Ali and David very generous with their time and welcoming. Thank you, thank you thank you 🙏 😄

Wonderful peaceful place, such friendly generous hosts
This peaceful beautiful cottage has all the amenities you could possibly want and is situated very close to the Red Squirrel Trail cycle trail and a network of walks to interesting places. It is an explorers paradise for adventurers of all ages and agility. We travelled to the Isle by rail, borrowed cycles, and we were transported to and from the ferry by our generous wonderful hosts Ali and David. There were so many lovely welcoming details: homemade cakes, homemade jams, a welcome hamper, fresh flowers, help with orientation and sorting out bikes, a lift to the pub and back in the pouring rain. We had a fabulous few days and will most certainly be back.

Wonderful family-friendly escape
Location suited us perfectly. Less than15 minutes convenient drive from Fishbourne ferry terminal, moments from the beautiful Red Squirrel Cycle Trail and a short walk across fields to The Garlic Farm. A peaceful spot nestled in the folds of the Downs, a great place to spot red squirrels! Well-equipped with toys for small children and books for all, it felt like a home from home, a snug place to relax in the evenings in front of the log burner. Ali and David were superb hosts who went above and beyond to enable us to make the most of the holiday. Our post-lockdown #3 holiday will live long in the memory!

Charming, comfortable and very well equipped home from home.
We were hugely impressed by this characterful property, which is ideally located in a quiet county location, but within easy reach of the coast and other amenities. The cottage was spotlessly clean, especially in relation to the current post covid requirements. Our hosts Ali and David were fantastic and ensured everything was perfect on arrival and throughout our stay. Their local knowledge and recommendations was a great help, whilst the welcome hamper with local produce and homemade cake was a really nice touch. We cannot recommend The Brew House or the Isle of Wight highly enough and will definitely be one of their many repeat guests next year:-)

Stunning Cottage, fantastic location, great hosts!
We stayed at The Brew House for 4 nights in late August, it was us & our two children aged 8 & 11. Ali was most helpful right from the time of booking, she even booked our ferry crossing for us. On arrival we were greeted by Ali & her husband, they were extremely friendly and always around to help if needed but also gave plenty of privacy, their cottage is attached to the side so they are there should you need them. Our welcome hamper was delightful (and tasty!).. What can I say about the cottage, it was stunning and a real home from home. The girls absolutely loved it and settled into thier room very quickly. The beds were very comfortable and all the decor was just beautiful! It was a shame it was summer as we'd have loved to have lit the fire in the lounge! The private courtyard was a sun trap in the morning so it was lovely to sit out and have brunch! The location was lovely, peaceful and central so we could get around the Isle of Wight easily and also its lovely beaches, the nearest large supermarket was only about 12 mins drive away. The famous Garlic Farm was literally 4 mins drive away. Beautiful cottage, thank you so much for our lovely summer holiday in the lovely Isle of Wight.

Amazing holiday cottage!
We had an amazing holiday at The Brew House. The cottage itself is really comfortable and so well equipped with everything you need and more! There was a beautiful welcome pack on arrival with lovely homemade produce. The owners were so friendly and helpful and lent us bikes, which we used on the brilliant cycle path near the cottage. We also had a couple of BBQs in the courtyard outside with everything provided for us. The Brew House is in a lovely location with walks nearby and also very handy to reach other areas by car. Thank you so much for having us, we would love to come back and stay again.

Great accommodation, close to cycle path.
We travelled as a family and found this cottage very comfortable and clean. It was close to a cycle path and bicycles were available from the very friendly owners. Hope to return for a longer stay next summer!

About the neighbourhood
Knighton is a tiny hamlet, a real rural retreat and the perfect location for walkers and cyclists at any time of the year. The famous Garlic Farm is just a short walk across the fields from The Brew House, and as well as an excellent farm shop, this also has one of the very best cafés on the Island - a real treat.
Getting around
The Brew House is in a very rural location, and so only has a direct bus service once a day. Most guests therefore bring a car. However, overall, the Isle of Wight has a very good bus network, with the nearest hub being in Ryde (approximately 7km away). Good value 'Day Rover' or 'Week Rover' tickets are available for unlimited bus travel on the Southern Vectis network. Biking (you can borrow our bikes) or renting a car from various locations, are also other options. There are taxis, but these tend to be expensive.
Access
Car advised
How to get there
The Brew House is just 15 minutes from the Fishbourne - Portsmouth Wightlink car ferry, and only 10 minutes from the Ryde passenger ferry and hovercraft links to Portsmouth. It is 25 minutes from the East Cowes - Southampton Red Funnel car ferry. The nearest airport is Southampton. Car hire is easily arranged nearby the Island ferry terminals.
