Beautiful unique apartment in a great neighborhood! Just a 5 minute walk from the orange and blue metro line (which can take you downtown and to the Old Port within 15-20 minutes) and a 10 minute walk from the famous Jean Talon market, my apartment is conveniently located in La Petite-Patrie on a residential street where you can usually find a parking spot somewhere on the block. There is also a bixi stand on the corner which makes for a true urbanite experience if you decide to use this fabulous method of transportation. The one bedroom apartment is of a modest size but is not to be underestimated. The one bedroom apartment is of a modest size but is not to be underestimated. It is on the third and top floor of an old building and a typical Montreal spiraling staircase must be climbed before entering. There are two skylights which make for a very cheerful vibe during the day and many lamps and dimmers for a more romantic ambiance in the evening. The kitchen window overlooks the belltower of the beautiful Saint-Arsène church which is lovely to look at when having morning coffee. I have a very comfortable queen size bed as well as a comfortable couch in the living room which can be set up as an extra sleeping space once the back pillows are removed (however as a previous guest mentioned, there is no privacy in the living room as it is connected to the kitchen and the hallway which is a common layout of old lengthwise Montreal dwellings). I also have a small sink in the bedroom (which I use all the time), in case you are thirsty for a glass of water during the night. Without a doubt you will enjoy your stay in my home! Update: I am now equipped to satisfy all of your coffee needs! There is a small filter coffee machine, an espresso machine and even a percolator! Thanks for looking!More

About the neighbourhood
My street 'de la Roche' was opened in 1911. The neighbourhood was named La Petite-Patrie (The Little Home) after Claude Jasmin's novel about the day-to-day life of a Québecois family post-war living on 7068 St. Denis street. Besides all the cool restaurants, cafés, and shops int my neighbourhood what I appreciate the most is the preservation of the original homes in this area. Actually, one of my favorite activities is strolling through the alleyways as this is where you witness a lot of historical character and all the quirks of these old houses and layouts. Jean Talon metro is a short walk away and there are buses (all night buses as well) but my ultimate favorite method of transportation during beautiful weather are the Bixi bikes (city bikes). If you have any questions on how to use them make sure to ask!
