A 10 minute drive from Mont St Michel, plus Pontorson and Avranches for supermarkets, local shops, restaurants and a great local market on a Wednesday (Pontorson) and Saturday (Avranches) or a much larger market in Rennes. Fancy cooking something yourself? The markets in Avranches, Dol de Bretagne, Dinard, Dinan and Pontorson can cater to every taste, from organic Isigny beef, to hand-made goats cheese or classic Camembert, to lobster, spider crab and local Moule de Bouchot from the Baie de Mont St Michel. For a fantastic artisan baker head to the village of Beauvoir, 10 minutes away by car, or you could buy freshly milled flour from the windmill at Moidrey and make your own!

The place is beautiful, clean and big. It was enough for us a s a family with 5 children. If you want to explore Normandy and Brittany in France, this is the right place where you stay. Driving to Saint Malo, walking to Saint Michel enjoying the walking/cycling in the beautiful landscape close to the property.

This is a lovely house in a quiet hamlet about a 10-minute drive to Le Mont-Saint-Michel, and even closer to the nearby town of Pontorson. Set in the beautiful bay of Mont St Michel the climate is milder, more reliable and sunnier than the UK, and the local area around the bay in particular benefits from a microclimate than means that warm sunny days are frequent and any rain rarely lasts long. This stunning area is set between the classic Normandy bocage, the Cherbourg peninsula, the beautiful Breton countryside, and the rugged beauty of the Brittany coast. The cities of Rennes and St Malo offer chic shopping and fine cuisine, whilst closer to home are amazing bistros, perfect patisseries, and artisan producers of everything from cheese to pottery to cognac. The ethereal Abbey of St Michael is a constant on the local skyline, marking a thousand years of French history.

There are many ways to travel to this area of France. Airports with car rental included Dinan, Dinard and Rennes. Ferry port options are also plentiful. The shortest distance away is St Malo, a beautiful fishing port that is worth a visit whilst arriving or departing. Quickest drive, with the most plentiful ferry options is Caen (Ouistreham), A slightly further drive, although still easy is Le Havre/ Alternatively, arrive at Roscoff and drive along the coast, taking in the bird reserves along the way.
