The apartment was even better in real life, than on the pictures, a real home from home. The beds were really comfy, I loved the wooden floors, and it was great to have full TIVO and a good wi-fi connection. The kitchen was fully equipped and so was the bookshelf, including local OS maps, leaflets of local attractions and walk-books, including one by the owners.
My mum managed the steps with some arthritis, but I wouldn't recommend the front steps for those with balance issues or young children (under 8), as they are steep and narrow. Once you are inside, everything is on one floor.
On our first evening, my mum and I were so overwhelmed by the view of the estuary, that we spent several hours staring at the view; watching the birds and the most amazing sunset, with the sun shrinking to a bright orange dot of light, on the horizon.
