Holiday Rental House
A pretty cottage for two people in the unspoilt and little known village of Cutar. It is completely self contained and has its own private terrace, large enough for summer dining. Renovated in the traditional Andalusian style by local craftsmen but including modern amenities including free WiFi. Perfect for couples interested in the culture of southern Spain, it is also great for a romantic break. Situated at the lower edge of the village, it has delightful views over fruit orchards and vineyards. The cottage has been completely renovated inside and out in the Andalucian style. The beamed wooden ceilings and clay floor tiles create a warm atmosphere. The entrance is accessed via a pretty patio in traditional patterned stone work with a large flowering cactus and tropical plants. The door of the cottage opens into a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area with an attractive open fireplace in traditional brickwork. High beamed ceilings help stabilize the summer and winter temperatures. Furnishings are designed to enhance the Moorish-Spanish feel of the space. The bathroom (like the kitchen diner) has a traditional feel being decorated in tile and brick. It is modern and fully equipped including a shower, small bath, toilet, bidet and hairdryer. Good quality bath and hand towels are included The bedroom has a traditional Andalucian 'matrimonial' double bed and double wardrobe. It has a warm and intimate feel. The bed is made up with Egyptian cotton linen, changed weekly A private terrace completes the suite, overlooking the Cutar valley and with a view of Mount Maroma. It receives full sun all day. About the neighbourhood
Cutar is a small hamlet in the foothills of the Sierra Tejeda mountains, dominated by the great Mt. Maroma. It is a 'Pueblo Blanco' - a white village of the sort established in Andalucia by the Moors who ruled it from the 8th to the 16th centuries. Recently a Koran and a book of laws were discovered buried in the wall of one of the buildings. The are is mixed fruit farming - olive, avocado, pomegranate, almond, mango and muscatel grape. Temperatures hardly ever descend to 0 degrees at any time of year. The mountain can be walked and is 30 mins away. Secluded beaches on a national park also 30 minutes drive.
