Crowthorne Holiday cottage is a 5 star barn conversion ideal for families or friends wishing to visit Thomas Hardy's Dorset but only half an hour from the Jurassic coast. It has a large open plan sitting/dining room and 4 ensuite bedrooms, including a disabled wet room in the twin downstairs bedroom. The sitting room has free Wi-fi and table football that will entertain young and old alike. The cottage sleeps 8, plus there is a sofa bed in the sitting room, available on request. Crowthorne is situated on our family farm at Bookham Court, near Alton Pancras, where you can fish, watch birds/badgers.There is a games room at Bookham, a short walk from the cottage. Pets are welcome, with the enclosed garden ideal for children and pets alike. I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Crowthorne. We certainly had a glorious August this year. Although the games room is wheelchair accessible, I acknowledge that the field is a little bumpy for a wheelchair, I will look into clearing a better path.

Interaction with guests
Nicola and Andy live on the farm and will visit you during your stay. They are happy to give advice on places to visit etc. The key will be left in a key box beside the front door, Nicola will send you the key box number before your arrival.

About the neighbourhood
Crowthorne cottage is situated off Bookham Lane, half way between Alton Pancras and Bucklan Newton. Sherborne and Dorchester are equal distances from Bookham, enabling you to travel North or South easily. Buckland Newton has an excellent village shop, selling local produce and papers and the Gaggle of Geese public house is within walking distance and provides good quality, homemade pub food.
How to get there
Crowthorne is situated off the B3143 , 10 miles north of Dorchester and 12 miles south of Sherborne. From the south, turn right before you get into Buckland Newton at the Bookham Court sign. Crowthorne is on the second bend.
