Vowchurch, Herefordshire, England
Sleeping up to 4+2, this beautifully converted old stable has a cosy, high end contemporary feel mixed with quirky antique finds, making it somewhere you can relax instantly. The Stable is perched above the Golden Valley with views to the Black Mountains and is a newly converted, traditionally crafted barn.
Nestling under ancient oaks in the garden is a handmade, fully insulated shepherds hut. It has it's own wood burning stove, making it cosy whatever the time of year. It is a lovely place to sit and read with a glass of wine or two, taking in the beautiful views. The sofa converts into a double bed, if you should like to bring extra guests (£40 per night).

We stayed for 5 nights over Christmas and were delighted by the level of detail in the Stable. It's been renovated to a high standard with burly central heating and a log fire. We were toasty even with the snow outside. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking our Christmas dinner. We were even greeted by some delicious homemade...

Management response:

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review. We really enjoy decorating the barns for Christmas and making them warm and cosy for visitors. We are lucky to have such great views and walks from the doorstep - I hope the snow made it more atmospheric for you!

We have never written a review before - and quite frankly are a bit reluctant to write one now. Cothill Stable was so absolutely perfect that we want to keep it a secret, but that would be too selfish. An absolutely fabulous place to stay - just don't be there when we want to go again.

Management response:

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay so much, that we are the subject of the first review you have written! If you promise not to keep it a secret, we promise to make sure there is always space for you!! Hope to see you again.

This was the first time we had visited this part of the country and we were awed by its beauty and varied landscapes. The stable itself was terrific - spacious, comfortable and kitted out with all mod cons. The farm is a delight - with ducks and chickens stationed opposite the front door, swallows speeding this way and that, and...

Management response:

Thank you so much for such a glowing review - we agree that this area in the Welsh borderland is very special - but we are biased! It was great to meet you and your lovely mother and hope to see you again in the future.
