In short, this home achieves the perfect balance between eco-friendly rustic paradise and modern conveniences essential to comfortable living. We warmly invite you to come and experience true tropical living for yourself.
Guests have access to the entire home, minus the small storage shed out back and 'rustic' (read: too quirky) farm oven in the yard.
Situated at the center of Mompiche's most tourist-friendly neighborhood and steps from the beach, this home offers the perfect location for your stay in paradise. Dine by candlelight at tables set in the sand two doors down at romantic Suly's, sip on a tropical cocktail at the infamous 'Casi Guapo's' beachfront bar, keep an ear out for live acoustic music across the street at Bam-bu, or just kick back on whichever balcony suits your mood: secluded morning coffee & birdwatching from the loveseat out back or evening wine & people-watching from the 2-person hammock in front. Oh, the choices!
Everything in Mompiche can be easily accessed by foot. 'Town' consists of a friendly village that takes approximately 5 minutes to cross, the surf point that made Mompiche famous is a 5-10 minute walk down a beautiful tropical beach, and mile upon mile of picturesque oceanfront hikes are available for exploring both to the north and south of Mompiche proper. We can provide more details about specific treasures upon your arrival!
1. Please, no smoking inside the home; on balconies only.
2. Thatch roof coverings and mosquito nets are both extremely flammable! Please carefully monitor your use of any and all flames: the gas range, smoking, candles, etc.
3. When filling the water tank, please consciously wait until it is done and TURN OFF. We do have an overflow tube, but if left running it can quickly flood and/or burn out the pump motor.
4. Please, no pets in this recently renovated and clean home. Our yard is available if you need it for them.
5. Should the electricity go out (welcome to Mompiche!), we have a small generator. Our caretaker can help you set this up, as they know all the quirks of what to disconnect etc.
6. Why would your deposit get docked? General damages that require us to replace or repair something or excessive dirtiness of any kind.
ABOUT THE HOSTS, AMY & MORONGO
We are a surfer-biologist husband-wife team and three full-throttle little boys that adore what makes Mompiche Mompiche: abundant nature, friendly people, the ocean, a slower pace of life, the jungles, and authenticity. We welcome you to our home!More
This was by far my favorite place we stayed in Ecuador. The entire house is made out of bamboo and has the coolest floor plan! Very comfortably furnished including all kitchen appliances. There's no place in mompiche I would rather stay.
This house looks like a magical dream house from the outside. However, as soon as we went inside, the horrors began. Scary bamboo stairs made us all feel insecure going up and down. We clung to railings to avoid falling and went very slowly each...More

Manager was great. Amy was reasonable to deal with.
The only thing I feel compelled to say - because it sure would have been great if somebody had...More
