The lounge/kitchen is open plan, with large bi-folding doors that can open fully onto the balcony overlooking the north sea. With reclaimed beams and 4 Velux windows, the space is light and spacious for two people. The kitchen has everything you need to create delicious meals and we include the bits like washing up liquid, kitchen roll, sponges, dishwasher tablets. The lounge has seating for 4 people (one three seated leather couch, one designer armchair), a 32 inch wall mounted flat screen TV with Blu-ray/DVD, and a convection fire should you need an extra blast of warmth on the colder days. There are also a selection of local information leaflets and books containing many walks for the area.
The bathroom includes a heated towel rail, a heated vanity mirror with shaving socket, a luxury bath/shower, a sink with Mason & Miller toiletries and 2 soft close drawers for storage and a floating W/C.
The bedroom has a king size bed fitted with white Eqyptian cotton sheets. With 2 bedside cabinets, a 22inch TV with FreeSat, alarm/DAB radio, and built in storage cupboard, you have plenty of comforts to enjoy.
You'll feel like royalty in this gorgeous, one of a kind cottage and with the ever-changing ocean view you'll leave feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.
The local area of Cresswell is a historic fishing village that houses lots of great walks and is easy access to the rest of beautiful Northumberland for you to make the most of exploring the county during your holiday.There is private parking enough for 2 cars outside Bank Top Cottage.

Beautiful time as always - highly recommended! Come regularly! Fabulous beach walks and the cafe is very close and good!

A truly wonderful and unique place, with view to die for.
Well, what can I say that hasn't already been said. This is a gorgeous cottage, 3-minute walk to get to good steps down to the beach, top ice cream shop right there and views from the terrace that are just stunning for every minute of the day. Quiet, gorgeous, and overall wonderful. It felt like a privilege to stay in such a wonderful place.

Breathtaking
What an amazing cottage this is. Sitting on that balcony taking in the view is just beautiful and so peaceful. I don't think you could get a better view. The welcome bag is filled with delicious essentials and treats. The decor of the cottage is lovely and having the bi-folding doors really does make a difference. When the sea is close you feel like you are literally floating on it. Listening to the waves and birds around is so calming. We enjoyed beach walks and climbing over the rocks. We had lovely fish and chips from Seafare and Cresswell ices ice cream. There was literally nothing better than waking up and walking through the kicthen to that view. Every morning we would sit outside and have a coffee and breakfast and on an evening wine! The final morning I woke up ready for the sunrise and I sat out there for hours with a coffee and reading the books provided, not a soul around. The Northumberland book was one of my faves! Honestly could not recommended this cottage enough. Ewa and Mark kept in touch when needed by text and were on hand if we needed anything. We had the most Amazing time away for our wedding anniversary and will definitely be back again 😊 xx

Relaxing holiday
We stayed in early May and the weather was good so lots of sunshine to enjoy on the lovely decking. Loved it and will be back next year! Wonderful views and plenty to do in the area. Excellent standards throughout the cottage. Comfortable too.

Wow
Awesome views, modern well equipped cottage, ideal location for visiting other locations. Local services and takeaways very convenient. Ice cream parlour next door but one to die for. Beautiful village setting. Peaceful nights sleeping. We are going back. We can't fault anything, just wait till you have breakfast on the veranda.

Another Perfect Stay!
Thank you Ewa and Mark for yet another perfect stay at beautiful Bank Top Cottage! Such a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy peace, tranquility and amazing views. Lovely well equipped accommodation with everything you need. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. This was our fifth visit and certainly not our last. It is now like our home from home!

Fantastic place to stay
We stayed at this gorgeous place in Cresswell for a short break.
Super clean and with everything thought of for guests.
Amazing location overlooking the sea and perfect little deck to sit on and enjoy the view.
Welcome basket of delicious goodies was provided on arrival with personal touch from the hosts.
Fantastic place and can’t recommend highly enough as the perfect base for places to visit in this beautiful part of the country.

Bank Top Cottage Cresswell a gem on the Northumberland Coat
This is our second visit to Bank Top Cottage, and the second stay was as great as the first. This time we stayed over our wedding anniversary. We arrived on one of the stormiest day of the summer with tides really high which was spectacular to see looking out through the bifold doors.
The cottage is excellently equipped and we received a beautiful welcome basket with some lovely local produce. We had another brilliant week in Northumbria and would highly recommend the cottage as it is ideally positioned to take in all that Northumbria has to offer.

A beautiful cottage, with sea views to die for.
We stayed at Bank Top Cottage for a quiet Christmas & to get away from the crowds. It was one of our bucket list things we wanted to do & because we have had a terrible year as a couple we decided that now was the time to do it. From first arriving the cottage wows you ,from the superb luxury inside to the unbelieveable views to be seen while eating meals it is gorgeous. Mark & Ewa had made the cottage festive which was a nice touch. Evan though it was freezing cold while we stayed there we were lovely and warm.
We would book next year in the summer if there were any vacancies, just to sit outside on the balcony & watch the sea.

Cresswell is a small village that comprises of a great deal of history. Pele Tower can be seen from the private road that leads to Bank Top Cottage. The beach is but a few seconds walk away and it stretches 7 miles up to the lighthouse on Coquet Island to the north. The ice cream shop which is open all summer has lovely homemade ice-cream of all varieties which is perfect for getting you into the seaside mood. When the tide is out, the rock pools are visible and ready for you to explore as there's lots of wildlife to discover.
The beach is a perfect place for nature lovers with many types of birds, fish and crustaceans.
For stargazers, the Aurora Borealis has also been viewed in the dark skies of the bay - Bank Top Cottage's balcony is the perfect viewing platform.

How to get there
Cresswell is a small village about 5 miles from the closest town of Ashington, a car is advised. Ashington has a large Asda, Aldi, Lidl, McDonalds, KFC, Dominos pizza and a few small high street shops.
Morpeth is a small town about 9 miles away - there's a Morrisons, Marks & Spencer food, many lovely cafes, restaurants and bars, pubs and high street shops.
The Plough Inn is located about 1.5 miles away in the village of Ellington which serves lovely food and local ales. The Widdrington Inn is located approx 2 miles away and serves meals with a varied menu.
The cottage is a perfect base for exploring Northumberland: Amble, Warkworth, Alnwick, Bamburgh, Holy Island, Seahouses and Tynemouth to name a few!
