This was our first time in Northumberland, and we decided to stay in a self-catering cottage instead of a Travelodge or Premier Inn. Our experience at Grandma's Cottage has been most pleasant.
We found the location of the cottage attractive as it is central to the attractions we wanted to visit. We visited Edinburgh, Bamburgh, Kielder Water and Forest, Hexham and Newcastle upon Tyne in a week, using the cottage as the base.
The cottage itself is exceptionally well-equipped, and both bedrooms have breath-taking views of the countryside. The owners are tremendously friendly (as are the two dogs and the hens that roam around the farm) and have been most helpful during our stay.
The cottage is definitely recommended for anyone wanting to visit Northumbria and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.
