Built in the 1850s out of local limestone with a typical Rutland Colleyweston slate roof, Postbox Cottage has an array of original features. The doorway to the bakery has been preserved, as have the beams of the loft, now forming the bedrooms and bathrooms, and in the lounge the impressive twenty inch thick stone wall has been left exposed.

The accommodation is on two floors. On the ground floor there is a spacious lounge and dining area with south and west facing windows. There is a gas fired wood burning stove.

The kitchen, which was newly fitted in 2009, is fully equipped with a gas cooker, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, iron, ironing board, electric kettle and toaster. Double doors lead out onto a secure courtyard complete with table and chairs so that you can enjoy alfresco dining

Postbox Cottage is the perfect accommodation when holidaying in Rutland, being in the heart of a very pretty village, and so conveniently placed for cycling and walking around and in the vicinity of Rutland Water. Just returned from a short break at Postbox Cottage. Wow what a wonderful cottage in a beautifully quiet village. Cottage was superb one of the best I have stayed in. Postbox Cottage is is ideally situated being within a short walking distance of Rutland Water and only a short drive from Stamford, Uppingham and Oakham. Rutland Sailing Club and the Rutland Water Fishing Lodge are within walking distance and the beautiful towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford are a short drive away.

Edith Weston lies 4 miles north of the A47, halfway between Leicester and Peterborough. It is 5 miles west of the junction on the A1 with the A606 Stamford to Oakham road and is 3 miles east of the A6003 Uppingham to Oakham road.

East Midlands Airport is approximately 40 miles away.
