The front door of La Cabriéra opens into a large living space of 30m² with a lounge area at the far end, UK and French TV, DVD and CD players and a comfortable sofa. A well-equipped corner kitchen (electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher) occupies the other end of the room with a dining table and chairs in between. This room opens onto a 21m² south facing balcony which extends out towards the valley and offers spectacular views of the Lot one thousand feet below. A teak dining table and chairs are provided along with sun-loungers, ideal for an after lunch siesta. A staircase down from the main living area leads to a double bedroom with a large wardrobe. The shower room is just opposite and has a toilet and washbasin. This room also houses the washing machine. The second barn has a large twin bedroom on the upper (ground level) floor with its’ own shower room and toilet. A large picture window gives a spectacular view over the valley. The property is private and let as one house despite being in 2 buildings so will never be shared with other guests. The house has both UK and French TV and an Internet service. All utilities, end of stay cleaning, bed linen, towels and pool towels are included in the price. Grounds, pool and surrounding area Outside the property there is a barbecue area with a brick built barbecue and a pergola with a vine to give a shady area for sitting. Steps lead down the centre of the garden to a small sun terrace and large semi in-ground spa (2.2m x 2.2m) with space for 5 people, seated or reclined. We do not recommend this property for small children. There is off road parking at the top of the driveway. The large semi in-ground spa on the terrace is perfect for relaxing on balmy evenings under a canopy of stars. A more peaceful haven is hard to find. The village of le Fel is within walking distance (1km) and offers two restaurants, wine tasting, a tennis court and a marked out circuit through the vineyards offering remarkable views at every turn. The pretty village of Vieillevie is 8 miles down river and has a highly recommended hotel restaurant, charming chateau and local store selling basic supplies, fresh bread and croissants daily. It is also a post office and internet café. The nearest towns are Entraygues-sur-Truyère (8 miles up river) and Montsalvy ( 6 miles) where you will find banks, local shops, bakers, bars and restaurants plus weekly markets. The large towns of Aurillac and Rodez are about an hour’s drive and both offer extensive shopping, culture, restaurants and activities to suit all tastes.More
