The house is a pleasure to live in and is in a village that has a shop that sells most things within an easy stroll. Mobile vendors call into the place most days selling a wide variety of produce. There are plenty of markets within a short distance of the village as it the Canal du Midi some 15 minutes down the road. The village is in a region with a bewildering variety of things to visit and experience close to hand. You can walk around the village in the evening and enjoy the character or you can walk further afield through the vineyards and countryside. There are a wealth of cafe and restaurants within easy reach of Trausse and some in Trausse for you to enjoy. For foodies the markets are a treat and the well equipped kitchen will allow you to prepare fabulous food.More

About the neighbourhood
The area is the wine and cherry production region of France. Apparently nearly 80% of wine in France is made here. It is Cathar country with a rich history and ruins to explore. Mostly for us it is the friendly people, fabulous markets and great produce that make it one of our favourite areas of France. So close to the Mediterranean, Provence and Barcelona which added to the opportunities of nearby make it a don't miss base for your French break.
Getting around
A car is recommended to make the most of your break, public transport is available, cycling and walking the local area is very rewarding with many attractions handy no matter what transport you choose.
