We were made to feel very welcome by Heather and her family. Having read the excellent reviews we were slightly disappointed with Stoury Bothy. The living/dining/ kitchen area is very small which would be very cramped if there were six people (our party consisted of two adults and two dogs) The Bothy was clean but the outside area was dotted...

We've stayed only three days but everything was perfect: a warm welcome, a very nice family, nice surroundings, easy access to Glasgow, Stirling, Loch Lomond..... the house was very clean and cosy and there was a large basket full of goodies(good quality) on the table! perfect booking!

Double bedroom has a double bed
Family bedroom has a double bed, a single bed and an optional single bed. Its a wee bit cosy, but this is reflected in the keen price!

We can provide travel cot or moses basket for babies. Also high chair, baby bath sling, nappy changing pad. All free of charge.

All prices include linen, towels, electricity, wifi and the most hearty welcome pack in Scotland!

About the neighbourhood
Kelvin Valley is a beautiful small valley which has the Kilsyth Hills leaning on to the Forth and Clyde Canal. Nearby is the Carron Valley and the Campsie Hills. Beautiful and atmospheric. Local towns Kilsyth and Kirkitilloch offer lazy days shopping coupled with some fine pubs, cafes and restaurants. Banton is a sleepy village which has peaceful and rugged aspects and offers a traditional friendly pub and bowling club for good old fashioned pub life. There are many walks around the village of Banton if you wish to wile away the hours not too far from your holiday home.

The village of Banton is just off the A803.

FROM GLASGOW heading east
M8, then head for Stirling on the M80
Take the slip road sign posted for Kilsyth/Bonnybridge (A803)
Turn right heading for Kilsyth
At the hamlet of Kelvinhead turn right up to Banton
When you get to the pub/telephone box, go straight through.
Drive over the hump back bridge and turn immediately left.
Follow the road and the signs for Auchenrivoch Farm/ Stoury Bothy all the way to the top of the road to the big yellow farm.


FROM EDINBURGH heading west
M8 then head for stirling on the M80, then head for Glasgow on M80
