Holiday Rental House -
4 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 9
Camber, Rye, East Sussex, England
Our house is on the beach with nothing between you and the sea except sand and shingle. At high tide the sea is about 30 feet from the deck, low tide the sandy beach is almost half a mile wide. We are 3.5 miles from the historic town of Rye in East Sussex.

Absolute beach front location; our home is a four bedroom two storey detached beach house, at the end of a private un-made up lane. It is nestled next to the dunes, a site of special scientific interest (SSSI). No traffic noise, just the sound of the sea. Please be aware that whilst many of the rentals in Camber look lovely, very few of them actually have direct access to the beach like ours.

Sitting room with wood burner, baby grand piano and pool table. Dining table seats 8. Kitchen with range cooker, American fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Four bedrooms all up...

Interaction with guests
Guest access; sole occupancy of entire house. Interaction with guests; we will not be there and the house is managed by our neighbours who have lived on the beach for many years and run a holiday lettings business. I will put you in touch with them when you message me about a booking. They will meet and greet and be on hand for emergencies.

About the neighbourhood
The neighbourhood; there is lots to do locally; 14c Bodiam Castle, the beautiful Cinque Port of Rye with a wonderful two screen independent cinema and lots of antique shops; Derek Jarman's garden at Dungeness; the Chapel Down vineyard and several other smaller ones are a short drive away, you can visit several in one day with lunch at the Swan.

Kitesurfing and kite buggy lessons on the beach through the Kitesurf centre at Jury's Gap; SUP, windsurfing and dingy sailing about 5 minutes away through Rye Watersports; Land Yachting with Fishys at Greatstone and power boats with Henk at Rye Harbour.

It is a foodie heaven; Kent to the east is called The Garden of England and the house backs onto Romney Marsh which is famous for salt marsh lamb.
Getting around
Other things to note; the reason Camber is so popular is the beautiful beach but the village is small and not especially pretty but you can buy milk and other essentials there. Happily the beach is in front of you as you sit on our deck and the village is behind you and across the field. Whilst the Gallivant bistro in the village is lovely, you may want to visit Rye for more choice of pubs and restaurants and the independent cinema. It is only 3.5miles and there is cycle path all the way. You can rent bikes from Rye Hire.
