Very spacious, well equipped with a room that could be used for drying wet clothes - which, thankfully, we did not need. We parked the car and did not use it again until we left - and there are still more walks that we could...More

Could not find fault with anything at matchbox. SO IMPRESSED that we can not wait and book again for another 2 weeks next January. Clean and cosy. Home from home everything you may need is here ready for you to use.

About the neighbourhood
Matchbox Stable Cottage is ideally suited for those wishing to walk or cycle within this idyllic location. The bus stop is only a couple of hundred yards away, so if you wish to leave the car at home, it is still possible to enjoy this lovely area. The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum is just around the corner. Visiting the buildings at this unique, tranquil museum will take you back in time. Alternatively, or as well, West Dean Gardens is a short walk away and provides beautiful scenery and gardens, as well as a good place to eat. An added bonus is the ideal proximity to Goodwood Racecourse and Motor Circuit. Many well known festivals are held at these venues.
