We have just returned home from our 10th visit to the Byre. Our lovely host's Paul and Julia still amaze us after all our visits , with yet more places to visit and eat . This was our ninth stay and it gets better every time. The Byre is cosy, ultra clean and has everything we need. It is a 'home from home'

We stayed here with our 8 month old puppy Hector for a week and it was ideal. There are 30 acres of woodland in which to take the dog for morning walks and we were often accompanied by the owners dog(s) which was great for Hector. There is lot's to see and do around here and I have to mention...

The Byre is located in the High Weald an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There is an extensive network of walking trails including the 1066 walk which crosses behind the cottage.
The coastline offers wide variety- sandy beaches at Camber,Clifftop walks at Fairlight and the old fishing huts in Hastings -where you can also enjoy locally caught fish.
Bird watching is available at RSPB Rye Harbour and Dungeness.
The local pubsand restaurants offer good food and local ales.Battle Abbey,Bodiam, Sissinghurst ,Great Dixter and Pashley Gardens are all within easy driving distance.
The nearby historic Cinque ports of Hastings and Rye have museums,shops and restaurants.
Craft & vintage shops,farmers markets and local delicatessens all within 10 mile radius.
