Kempt Tower is our most recently converted property and is already popular for extended family holidays in Jersey. This historic Martello Tower has been restored with all modern conveniences and fully equipped as a self-catering property.

Kempt Tower in St Ouen's Bay on the west coast of the Island was built in 1834 as a defensive tower against possible French invasion. Constructed with Jersey granite, the ground floor was used to store weapons and ammunition whilst the upper floor housed ten troops and their commanding officer.

The Tower, which was restored in 2014, has the best of both worlds, with being a stone's throw from the beach below but with some of the Island's top restaurants only a short walk away. A group of 12 adults visited the tower for a weekend birthday celebration. The accommodation was quirky, spotless and a pleasure to stay in, and that was in the winter......I can only imagine what it would be like in the summer!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We have just spent a weekend at Kempt Tower. What an amazing experience. Built in 1834 this Tower has been sensitively restored to create a stunning and unique self-catering property. We were concerned that booking it in January it would be on the chilly side. We walked in and were amazed. It was really warm and cosy, the heating was already on and this included the underfloor heating in the bathroom. We watched the sunset from the roof terrace, which gave us a 360 degree view of St Ouens. We then put the log burning stove on and enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine. The dining table seated 12 comfortably and we sat down to a lovely meal with friends. The evening was spent on the spacious settees in front of the log burning stove chatting and playing silly games! The bunk beds were made up with crisp white sheets and white bath towels were also provided. We all slept soundly and woke up early to watch the sunrise from the roof terrace while enjoying a bacon butty and hot mug...
