Enjoy the native birds, Tuis, Moreporks and Woodpigeons in your private outdoor area or choose a relaxing walk along some of the local bush tracks or nearby famous black sand beaches like Piha or Karekare. Able to accommodate four people, the cottage has modern amenities but retains a rustic character with a Kiwiana feel. Oratia is a green leafy area famous for it apple orchards. We are located in the foothills of the Waitakere ranges in a Kauri reserve. The property sits on 2.5 acres of native bush section with no visable neighbours. Very quiet and peaceful yet 30mins drive to the CBD and 20mins drive to the beautiful westcoast beaches (Piha, Anawhata and Karekare). There is a farmers market every Saturday at the local vineyard (5 mins away by car). A supermarket and other shopping facilities are10mins away. The train station/Bus stop are 10 mins away and will take you to the CBD and outlying areas. We are happy to drop and pick you up from these if we are available to. Taxis can be booked.
