The Cottage is located on the outskirts of Perassay, between La Chatre and Boussac. The nearest larger village is Ste Severe sur Indre which is famous for Jacques Tati and the filming in the '50s of the film 'Jour de Fete'. The surrounding countryside of rolling hills is criss crossed by rivers, streams, walks with many natural landmarks, an absolute must for birdwatchers, walkers, fishing, cycling and history enthusiasts. About the neighbourhood
Perassay is a small, typically french, village about 1km from the cottage. There is a small general store where fresh bread is available daily from midday. There is also a bar/tabac. Ste Severe sur Indre is a lovely small town with a market every Wednesday in the medieval market place. You will find the newly opened Maison Jour de Fete(The Jaques Tati museum) here. There are several leisure lakes nearby including Lac de Sidialles with man made beaches, boating, pedalos and a bar. The first stage of the Tour du Limousin ends in Boussac - 20 minutes by car. Boussac is a delightful small town and has a busy market on Thursdays.
