Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Perfect stay
The Stables is a thoughtfully designed, tastefully decorated, compact cottage. Very well equipped and enjoys great views. Becky was a perfect host, providing tasty treats on arrival and detailed recommendations which really helped us get the most from our stay. A great place from which to explore the Peak District. We will definitely return.

Another great stay
Our 2nd visit was just as great as the first. Communications with Becky are prompt and personable, always happy to share information to make the most out of our trip. Parkields Stable suits our needs as a couple, with a main bathroom downstairs and an additional toilet within the upstairs master bedroom. Also great to have a TV in that room so you can relax in bed. The kitchen though bijou has everything you need. The weather was warm so it was nice to open the doors from the living area onto the garden. Becky and family live next door, but at no time did we find this intrusive. The welcome Hamper was fabulous and had lovely touches as I am Gluten intolerant, she even after returning from their family vacation made me a wonderful GF Cake. Thank you so much Becky and family, hope to see you soon. PS - Ashbourne is lovely...........

Not two bedrooms
There was a lot to like about this cottage, but we were very disappointed to find that the description of the twin "bedroom" is misleading. It is not a bedroom in the traditional sense of the word, but an area at the top of the stairs into which twin beds have been placed. There is no door and no privacy, so that everyone passes by this area on the way to the double bedroom and it's open to the lounge beneath it. Consequently, our plans to use this "room" for an adult cousin became impractical. It should also be noted that the dining area is very small and uncomfortable for more that two adults.

Excellent cottage near Ashbourne
This is an excellent cottage (more like a small house really) near Ashbourne in Derbyshire, ideally located for visiting tourist beauty spots, towns and villages and a variety of walks from the door around the beautiful countryside, which can be viewed from the cottage and its garden. The cottage itself is very well equipped with everything needed and more! A very generous welcome hamper is provided and we were grateful to be asked of any dietary requirements and pleased that these were taken into account. The cottage is comfortable and spacious with lovely views from all rooms. The stairs lead into the twin bedroom which then leads by a door to the main bedroom - something which may need to be taken into account if 4 adults are staying. There is a bathroom downstairs with shower and an ensuite toilet in the main bedroom. The atmosphere is very peaceful. The owners, who live next door (not attached) are very helpful and welcoming and Becky made sure that all of our questions were answered before our stay. They were on hand during the stay for any advice but were unobtrusive - a perfect balance. The advice regarding Covid-19 was very clear and the cottage was perfectly clean. We felt safe here and felt that the precautions and advice were just right for us. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for a countryside break. We had a lovely walk from the door, a visit to Dovedale and also Chatsworth. We could have walked over fields to Ashbourne, an attractive market town with many cafes and restaurants. Next time we will stay longer!

Simply Stunning!
Such a wonderful location, the Cottage it beautiful and immaculate - a home from home! The views from the cottage are stunning, and so relaxing and peaceful. The location is great so easy to get to a number of places without having to drive to far, and the town of Ashbourne is lovely. Becky makes the best cakes ever, and it is such a treat to have a welcome hamper waiting for you when you arrive! We will definitely be back!

Great , perfect week away
We booked last minute and had a great week exploring the local area. The cottage is very comfortable and in a great location. The children enjoyed playing in the barn the little time we were at home.

Lovely long weekend
My husband and I had a really lovely weekend away at this cottage. I booked it for as a surprise for my husband and I to relax over the bank holiday weekend and we're not disappointed. Lovely, relaxing, spotlessly clean and well equipped cottage. The views over the countryside were perfect and we enjoyed some lovely walks in the surrounding areas. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed for the weekend and the welcome hamper was a lovely treat too 😊 Would recommend this place for couples or a small family for a lovely weekend away Thank you!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location!
A lovely cottage perfect for a family of four and in a fabulous country location. We spent a week here in the Easter holidays as a last minute booking and were really pleased with our find. The cottage itself is on a lovely farm which provided fabulous outdoor space for my two young boys to explore. Indoors the cottage was beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. A welcome food hamper in a small but perfectly formed kitchen was a lovely surprise and went down very well with us all. The owner's provided a very well stocked toy cupboard too, which again was a hit with the boys. The cottage is just outside of the lovely little town of Ashbourne at the bottom edge of the Peak District. Lots of lovely independent shops there along with a fantastic sweetie shop and milkshake bar. The major attractions were all within easy driving distance - Chatsworth House, Heights Of Abraham, caves and caverns, walking and biking and Alton Towers is very close by. We had a lovely stay at Parkflields Stable and would love to return one day!

Great cottage in great location!
Cottage was awesome - very tidy and clean, well stocked with everything you could need. Even the soaps and shower gel made us feel at home! Very quiet and private place, but the owners are right on hand if anything needed. They also made extra effort to cater to our needs beforehand. We were only here for a few days (with terrible weather!) but it's well placed for exploring the area and in a beautiful location. Would be great to go back and explore.
