Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Beautiful Lodge
A very homely welcome with a beautiful Christmas tree and Christmas treats(cake was exceptional) Attention to detail was second to none. Every aspect was covered which made our stay carefree. Pre warmed hot tub was fantastic. 2 great pubs with gorgeous food in walking distance We couldn't of expected anything more from our stay. Thank you Selina

Paradise in a cabin
I cannot recommend a stay at Artlegarth Lodges more! Set in a beautiful area with loads to do and a delightful village with some great food options just walk away. But the real delight here is the log cabins themselves, homely, stylish, well equipped and peaceful. The hot tubs outside are a great treat either in the cold dark evenings or the blissful sunshine. The welcome couldn’t have been warmer and Selina was an absolute testament to the business, helping us out efficiently and pleasantly will a few teething issues. We’ll be back!

Perfect in every way
My second visit to these lodges this year and everything was just as wonderful as the first time. Jennie and her team pull out all the stops to ensure you have a fantastic stay, the lodges are immaculate and really well equipped, the decor is modern and cosy, the furniture and beds are all super comfy and the linens and towels are high end. Already planning to come back next year for another fantastic break - can't wait!!

Just Beautiful
The Swaledale is just perfect, we had a weekend here as a treat for a couple of birthdays. The lodge has everything you need and little touches like the bread and eggs, cake etc. are so nice, thank you. Make sure you do the local walks as the views are stunning. Local pubs are also great for food and a few drinks:) Would recommend in a heart beat, you will not be disappointed. Thank you again Richard, Chris, Sue and Jane x

A wonderful stay at Artlegarth!
We stayed in Swaledale lodge for half term and had a wonderful time. Despite certain challenges, Selina ensured that we had a fantastic stay. The lodge was cosy and luxurious - we loved getting in the hot tub after wet and windy days up mountains and waterfalls! The lodges are really kitted out to a very high standard and there are lovely little touches. Cannot recommend enough.

Fabulous perfect break for all
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lodge. Great communication with Selina and the team prior to and during our stay - purchased 2 of the hampers on offer, which was well worth doing as saved time shopping. Amenities in the lodge were excellent. Everything was there for us if required, along with the appreciated extras - birthday bunting/balloons and cake! Situated in a beautiful part of the world, there was plenty to explore, observe and photograph. Along with the wildlife and weather, siting on the deck or in the hot-tub, was a great way to wile away the day after a walk with a glass of something special and great company. To top it all, I saw my first red squirrel in the wild! Only thing missing was a non slip mat in 2 smaller ensuite rooms. Thank you team, we'll be back!

Birthday weekend away
We came here for 2 nights in Feb 2022 for my husbands birthday celebrations. What a lovely relaxing weekend we had. I had arranged with Selina for birthday decorations and cake on arrival which was lovely and so kind. We arrived to homemade cake, bread, milk and eggs and Prosecco on ice, amazing little touches. The views from the lodge were amazing, my 3 children loved the hot tub, we couldn’t get them out! There’s lots of thing to do locally if you can tear yourself away from the lodge! We went into Kirkby Stephen which was only 6 miles away. Lots of nice walks around. We’ve had the most amazing relaxing weekend and will definitely be back. I would highly recommend!

January 2022 Family birthday break
My family and I (3 x couples) stayed at this stunningly beautiful lodge to celebrate a special birthday. Fabulous accommodation, spacious, high quality fixtures and fittings. Birthday trimmings, cake and chilled bubbly had been set up for our arrival 😁 - a lovely surprise organised by my son with Selina. We’ve had a super mini holiday with lots of walks, visits, hot tubs, food and games. Memories to cherish and looking forward to returning- which we definitely will 😁.

Fantastic Lodge Break
We spent 4 nights in Swaledale lodge and it was just perfect. The little touches were just what we needed to replace our cancelled ski holiday. From the logs for the wood burner to the cake made and left for us to enjoy, this stay was simply fantastic. We walked to the fells, access was easy to and from the lodge as well as a stroll to the Kings Head pub where service was also good and friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay here again given the opportunity. Thank you ☺️

About the neighbourhood
Artlegarth Lodges are in a perfect position for exploring both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks but there is plenty to do right on the doorstep too: Ravenstonedale lies at the foot of the Howgill and Wild Boar fells offering excellent opportunities for walking. Pamphlets are provided in your lodge for twenty local walks in Ravenstonedale and Kirkby Stephen, some of them leaving from the doorstep of your lodge. With plenty of options you can choose from a gentle stroll right through to an enthusiastic yomp. Artlegarth Lodges are a short scenic stroll (one mile) down a quiet country lane to the village of Ravenstonedale with its popular two real ale pubs, The Black Swan and The Kings Head, which both serve fantastic food.
Getting around
Local classic coach bus service is available on select days, cycling routes are excellent as well as public foot paths and fell/country walks, horse riding can be booked locally too and a car may be required if you feel the need to travel out of the full vastness of the two National Parks here.
